The Sr Technical Project Manager ensures the successful operational execution of the firm’s highest priority projects. The Sr Technical Project Manager manages all aspects of delivering complex projects from inception to conclusion and may supervise several project managers in the delivery of their assigned projects. The Sr Technical Project Manager is a resource to operating group and business segment leaders by training and mentoring colleagues in project management and change management across the firm.
This position will be based out of our Tampa, FL office with a hybrid work environment.
The Senior Technical Project Manager oversees the planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closure of small to large complex technical projects across the full software development lifecycle. Their primary responsibility is to ensure that project objectives are met on time and within budget, while ensuring the project's scope is on the right track. They are responsible for working closely with business stakeholders and the technical delivery teams to determine the best solution to achieve the desired business outcomes while managing risks and cross-functional interdependencies.
Key areas of focus are:

Planning the overall project delivery cycle, goals and objectives

Driving the end-to-end software delivery lifecycle across technical teams

Coordinating overall project documentation such as agenda, project plans, meeting minutes, status updates, and SteerCo material

Delivering the project on-time and on-budget by maintaining a project schedule and managing financials

Collaborating and communicating with stakeholders, project team members and vendors
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Proven work experience as a Technical Project Manager with core software applications delivery
-
Proven experience in overseeing the end-to-end delivery of technical projects or programs from inception through requirements, design, build, testing and deploy across multiple cross-functional delivery teams

Strong technical background, preferably in software development

Strong working knowledge of project management methodologies and tools such as Jira or MS Project
-
Extensive experience working in an agile based delivery model either Scrum or Kanban
-
Experience leading SAFe Program Increment (PI) Planning ceremonies

Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
-
Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and business languages

Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.

Education/Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.

5-10 years experience

Certifications Preferred: Project Management Professional (PMP), CSM (Certified Scrum Master), PSM (Professional Scrum Master)

Strategy, Planning & Communication:

Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to ensure smooth and reliable delivery of software and systems to fulfill business objectives, support business processes, and ensure business continuity

Work with executive team members, decision makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals that can be achieved
-
Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.

Define staffing requirements and coordinate resource needs

Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.

Coordinate planning across vendor partners if required
-
Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.

Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.

Publish status reports and various communication updates to stakeholder
Execution:
-
Work across multiple agile delivery teams and external vendors to coordinate delivery
-
Leverage Jira to understand project tracking and delivery status of agile based teams
-
Conduct quarterly PI Planning across cross functional delivery teams
-
Manage the execution of a project schedule and track progress toward timely completion.

Monitors and evaluates project risks, proactively identifying potential issues and implementing risk mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions.

Manage project financials by tracking spend, investigating deviations and escalating cost increases

Facilitate project meetings and SteerCos
-
Address problems through risk management and contingency planning and present solutions and/or options to executive management
-
Conduct project postmortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.

Works closely with the business and operations on deployment readiness activities such as training, change management and communication.
