As a Senior Technical Designer - Game Balance, you will ensure our design and systems allow for endless expansion and constant balancing as new characters, abilities, and game modes are added into the game throughout development and into its live service.
Your expertise in game-balancing systems will be crucial as you'll be responsible for designing and optimizing gameplay mechanics, conducting playtests, and analyzing player behavior to make data-driven adjustments that improve gameplay.
Responsibilities:

Designing and optimizing gameplay mechanics to ensure fair, engaging, and enjoyable experiences for all players.

Ensuring our designs allow for endless expansion of mechanics and upgrades without breaking the game balance.

Conducting regular playtests to gather data and feedback on game balance, making necessary adjustments based on insights.

Collaborating with other designers, developers, and artists to maintain a cohesive and balanced game world.

Analyzing player behavior and game metrics to identify and address balance issues.

Creating and iterating on game systems that promote diverse play styles and strategies.

Communicating balance-related changes and updates to the team and community effectively.

Staying up-to-date with industry trends and competitive games to ensure our game remains relevant and balanced in the market.
Minimum Requirements

Professional design experience gained developing and releasing multiple high-quality games.

Great communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience working with game engines and scripting languages.

Skilled in defining and giving direction as well as feedback.

Self-motivated and driven to grow and learn, as well as help those around you to do the same.

Strong problem-solving skills and game design philosophies with a focus on simplicity and creating impactful gameplay.

Great industry knowledge and passion for staying ahead of the technology curve in video game development.
Pluses

Experience working closely with QA and/or user testing to improve game balance.

Professional experience working on multiplayer titles and with Unity.

Prior work experience or education in non-design game development disciplines such as programming, production, or sound.
