Guerrilla is looking for a Technical Artist to help build and maintain sample content for our game engine, Decima. This content will be used by studios to evaluate and learn about Decima, by new hires to learn how to successfully create content in their domain, and by Decima engineers to show off new capabilities of the engine.
This role is unique in the industry where you will build samples that span a diverse range of technical and artistic content. It will be perfect for someone who enjoys teaching others and enjoys exploring all parts of the game development pipeline. The work you do will contribute insights into how best we can continue improving the quality of an engine used by multiple industry leading studios.
Who We Are
At Guerrilla, we’re passionate about creating cutting-edge technology tailored to the needs of our games and our partners. That’s why we built Decima: an award-winning, industry-leading engine designed from the ground up.
Decima pushes modern hardware to its limits, delivering best-in-class graphics and performance. It also empowers teams with artist- and designer-friendly workflows, robust production planning tools, and advanced debuggers for programmers.
We believe that the tools a studio uses are just as important as the games they create—and with Decima, we’re setting the stage for innovation and creativity.
What You Will Do
In this role, you will:
- Be responsible for the overall structure of the project that contains sample content.
- Ensure sample content is kept relevant, maintained, and iteratively improved.
- Collaborate with artists, designers, and engineers throughout the studio to assemble sample content that covers various areas and features of Decima.
- Work with technical writers to build learning material to complement sample content.
- Provide feedback to engineers and designers about usability and quality issues in their areas.
Who You Are
- You have a proven history of working within the games industry either making AAA titles or building sample content for other major engines in the industry.
- Ideally you have experience building content used for creating feature demos or as onboarding experiences.
- You have demonstrable experience in content wrangling, and workflow/pipeline management.
- You have a strong understanding of game development concepts, pipelines, and workflows.
- You have experience with Python, C++, or similar languages
- You take ownership over your work, and are motivated to deliver quality results
- You enjoy collaborating with others and creating cross-department solutions

What We Do
As one of Europe's leading game development studios, Guerrilla has continually pushed the boundaries of technical and artistic excellence since its inception in 2003. Today, the studio employs 400 professionals from 25 different nationalities. Guerrilla’s state-of-the-art offices are located in the cultural and historical heart of Amsterdam, The Netherlands — a great place to work and play.
Guerrilla was founded as the result of a merger between three smaller Dutch studios: Lost Boys Games, Orange Games and Digital Infinity. In 2005, it was acquired by Sony Interactive Entertainment after the release of Killzone on PlayStation 2. In the decade that followed, Guerrilla expanded Killzone into a successful franchise with a handheld spin-off and three sequels.
Guerrilla's next title, released for PlayStation 4 in 2017 and for PC in 2020, is the critically and popularly acclaimed open world action-RPG Horizon Zero Dawn. The studio released its sequel Horizon Forbidden West in February 2022, with the Burning Shores expansion in 2023. This year, Guerrilla also released the PSVR2 title, Horizon Call of the Mountain
