Job Duties

Lead analyses to define and craft Cengage's Higher Ed commercial and pricing strategy (examples of work: key commercial initiative modeling and evaluation, driver-based forecasting, A/B testing construction and evaluation).

Use data and competitor analysis to evaluate and provide concrete recommendations on new and proposed commercial model options.

Independently lead data wrangling and modeling projects (often with millions of rows of data) to downstream reporting, recommendation, and implementation.

Lead and work directly with various go-to-market teams to design, iterate on, and implement new go-to-market initiatives.

Forecast impact of proposed commercial and pricing changes.

Build and maintain complex evaluative data models, often leveraging SQL-based logic.

Provide mentorship to other internal teams on SQL-based solutions to data problems.

Be a subject matter expert on product purchasing and access data.

Act as a consultant, engaging with non-HED business units (Secondary, ELT, Gale, Work) providing transformative analytical support.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Mathematics, Economics or a related field

Two (2) years experience performing pricing or analysis of economic decision-making in the education, software, or publishing industry and utilizing SQL.

Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") working with relational databases and data architecture, including Snowflake, SQL Server, Oracle, or MS Access databases. DE developing data-driven analyses with structured and unstructured data. DE conducting statistical analysis using Python, R or SAS. DE visualizing data insights via ThinkCell, Tableau, PowerBl, or Looker.

The full base pay for this position is $102,856.

The full base pay range has been provided for this position. Individual base pay will vary based on work schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location. Sales roles often incorporate a significant incentive compensation program beyond this base pay range.
