As a Senior Staff Software Engineer you’ll be leading the design and implementation of backend end solutions within a streaming / eventing technology environment. Our Crew is dedicated to delivering a self-service offering as part of our Enterprise Transformation Program (ETP). This is a high impact and high visibility role where you’ll be partnering with and influencing Senior Leaders in our business.

• Show expertise in designing, developing and deploying high quality software solutions and in a full cycle environment.

• Enjoy being hands-on the code, creating innovative software with a deep expertise in Java

• Are confident decision makers, using their influencing skills to drive technology decision making with senior leaders.

• Specialist in API design & development with automated integrated testing

• Have a natural drive to educate, communicate and positively influence various stakeholder groups including high level executives.

• Can coach & mentor junior engineers, share knowledge to uplift and improve software development practices.

• Can perform code quality control through peer programming, code review and automated pipeline release management.

Tech skills

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but having significant experience and exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team.

• Kafka and Event Driven Architecture

• Microservices

• NoSQL databases (e.g. Cassandra, Keyspaces or DynamoDB, etc)

• GitHub Actions

• CI/CD tooling such as GitHub, TeamCity, Artifactory, Octopus Deploy

• Logging & monitoring: CloudWatch, AppDynamics, Splunk, Grafana and Prometheus

• Cloud (AWS, Azure)
