Job Description
Visa is heavily investing in its Design Team to help support its growing digital product line across the world. We believe that great design can engage and inspire users, and we strive to rethink and redefine how users interact with Visa's products and services.
With that, we are looking for a Senior Staff Designer to join our new product development hub based in Berlin. We are responsible for bringing new products or proposition to life for our partners within EU and UK regions. Our team consists of product, design, research and solution architects who values commitment, accountability and collaboration. We aspire to grow a culture in the hub where we can win as a team. In this role, you would report Director of Design & Research and leading through your craft for the selected projects.
What you will do:
- Lead design lifecycle for new payment experiences including discovery, conceptualization, prototyping, and validation.
- Collaborate with internal and external cross-functional partners to bring visions to life.
- Plan, prioritize, and execute design work for multiple projects with ultimate care and quality.
- Leverage design as a tool to inspire stakeholders and execute feasible solutions.
- Anticipate research needs and work with UX researchers for best methods for validation of ideas.
- Execute high-quality visual and interaction designs through advance prototyping.
- Elevate Visa's design language and expand its capabilities to serve for larger portfolio of products.
- Lead 1-2 junior designers, guiding them through planning and high-quality execution and their growth at Visa.

Qualifications
We’d be excited to meet you, if you have:
- Leadership through craft. You will be the expert telling the right story through thoughtful, inspiring design solutions to diverse set of partners and clients.
- Strong portfolio of conceptual and shipped product experiences across markets, specifically for mobile applications.
- Track record in leading and designing 0 to 1 products or propositions to market.
- Great eye for design with passion for details demonstrated in your portfolio.
- Experience in creating design patterns and visual elements to elevate and expand our existing design language at Visa.
- Subject matter expertise and experience in implementing accessibility (WCAG) standards in your design.
- Strategic approach to implementing the right research methods for validating solutions in close partnership with UX researchers.
- Self-starter and proactive mindset. You identify and execute on multiple tasks under without needing regular supervision.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbally and written.
It’s a big plus, but not limited to, if you have:
- Experience in complex and regulated industries (payments, banking, healthcare, SaaS or e-commerce) or excitement and willingness to tackle complex payment and network systems, as is essential for the success in this role.
- Experience building and scaling design libraries for scale, including motion design principles and interaction patterns.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
