The Commerce organization creates the tools that Squarespace's customers need to run their business online. As the Commerce Product Strategy & Operations Director, you will contribute to both the Commerce team and entire organization, by being the right hand to the Commerce Leadership team to lead strategic initiatives and to ensure operational excellence throughout our product development and go-to-market process.
We are looking for a versatile, Chief of Staff like thinker who has the ability to comprehend the big picture while still paying attention to detail working across multiple teams. You should be an excellent communicator and well versed in managing stakeholder communications and expectations, transforming complex problems into simple and scalable solutions that are easy to maintain. You have experience working with senior leadership in a tech environment and are comfortable with ambiguity, deftly navigating a changing business environment. You excel at managing multiple priorities and diving into details with technical and non technical stakeholders.
This is a hybrid role working from our New York City office 2-3 days per week. You will be the right hand to the Head of Commerce / VP of Product and will be a member of the Product Operations organization, reporting to the Senior Director of Product Operations.
You'll Get To...
- Manage business cadence, encompassing gathering materials / data for key reporting updates (OKRs, QBRs, MBRs, WBRs and annual planning)
- Establish and run the operational cadence of Commerce (ex: Monthly Commerce Leadership meeting, Quarterly Commerce All Hands, etc)
- Monitor critical priorities, deliver data-driven insights, and recommend agile adjustments.
- Act as a VP proxy, fostering strong senior leader relationships across Product, Engineering, and various cross-functional teams, facilitating collaborative opportunities.
- Facilitate executive and organizational decision-making by anticipating challenges and providing data-supported trade-offs.
- Gain a deep understanding of Commerce's target user and craft GTM strategies, product ideas and new services to address the nuanced customer needs
- Establish strong cross-functional relationships across Squarespace, and work hand-in-hand with product, design, engineering, UX research, data science, product analytics, marketing, and customer operations to deliver excellent experiences for service sellers
- Support preparation for executive reviews to ensure the quality of materials will facilitate thoughtful discussions and decisions
Who We're Looking For
- 10+ years of experience across consulting, business operations, strategy and/or product
- Chief of Staff experience at a tech company
- Product sense and structured problem solving
- Strong organizational skills and a bias to action across competing priorities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to align different teams around achieving business goals and outstanding user experiences
- Ability to build executive-level presentations and consensus amongst senior stakeholders
- Proven track record of leading, managing and improving internal communications and organizational processes

Cash Compensation Range: $223,000 - $358,800 USD
The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, and location, among other factors.
In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include on-target commissions or overtime pay), Squarespace employees are eligible to be granted an option to purchase our common stock.
