GEICO is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our Finance Technology organization. In this role you will manage a team of Engineers specializing in building and maintaining Finance Applications ensuring all digital assets operate in a highly reliable, responsive and efficient way. You will help drive our transformation as we transition from a traditional IT model to a Tech organization with Engineering Excellence as its mission.
Job Responsibilities

Define strategy and manage roadmap for the technology stack supporting Finance System including various tool sets, automation, cloud access and integration, and enablement tools

Provide technical direction and organizational leadership for a team of Software Engineers who design, test, deploy and maintain Finance systems built to support GEICO’s needs and strategy

Build and nurture a high-performing technology team, providing mentorship, coaching, and guidance to foster a culture of continuous learning and DevOps mindset

Champion the implementation of engineering quality to include unit testing, automation testing, security testing, among others

Present a vision and strategic recommendations with clarity and concision to stakeholders having varying degrees of technology fluency

Work closely with the GEICO People Team to manage, innovate, and create new programs, direction and analytics that balance and improve the associate experience

Foster effective collaboration and communication across teams to align priorities, share best practices, and ensure smooth coordination for incident response, system maintenance, and upgrades

Build and maintain a roadmap that aligns with stakeholders' needs and wants

Manage resource allocation, and vendor relationships to optimize costs and maintain high-quality outcomes
Candidate Qualifications and Skills

Proven experience in a technology leadership role supporting Finance Technology teams

Deep knowledge of Finance systems, methodologies, and principles. Experience with Finance tools that connect with Workday is a plus

Familiarity with cloud security best practices and compliance standards

Outstanding leadership and team management skills with a passion for mentoring and fostering professional growth

Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for driving operational efficiency and automation

Experience developing and deploying applications in Azure, AWS or similar public cloud environment

Experience in budget management, resource allocation, and vendor collaboration
Required Experience
-
10+ years of software architecture and development/coding experience with C# .Net or Java
-
8+ Experience with database technologies like SQL Server, MYSQL, Oracle etc.
-
5+ years of experience in leadership of development teams (may be concurrent with development experience above).

5+ years of development in a large-scale, mission-critical environment
-
3+ years of experience with automated testing including Unit, Integration, and End-to-End functional testing
Education
-
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalent education or work experience
Location: Home Office, US Based, Eastern or Central time zones preferred

Annual Salary
$105,001.65 - $280,004.40
The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
