Role Description

Are you an experienced technical writer who loves to get into the technical details and play around with code? We’re a phenomenal team of writers who work collaboratively with developers, quality engineers, product managers, and usability experts to make the Salesforce easier to use. You’re a problem solver with excellent people skills who knows the needs of developers and is eager to write easy-to-understand developer guides, learning content, and online help. You’re a great match if you’re self-directed, passionate about technology, and able to produce high-quality documentation. You’ll work in a fast-paced environment, improving our existing development process documentation and reference content. In this position, you’ll apply your content strategy and organizational skills to come up with content plans to support new product and feature development, and create or update developer documentation.
 

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field, Communications, or similar

  • Proven English writing skills with samples

  • 8+ years of Technical Writing experience with 4+ years of experience writing for a developer audience

  • Ability to work on multiple projects at once

  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly

  • Strong content strategy skills with a customer advocacy mindset

  • Phenomenal people and communication skills

  • Focus on quality and details

  • Strong team player

Desired Experience and Skills

  • Experience with source control software such as Perforce and Git

  • Experience with Markdown

  • Knowledge of DITA and XML-based authoring tools such as Oxygen

  • Experience documenting APIs

  • Working knowledge of XML or HTML

  • Experience with AI or GPT interfaces and prompts
