Senior Accountant is responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to ensure the accuracy of financial information and appropriate accounting controls. This position will manage the general accounting function ensuring the accurate compilation, analysis, and reporting of accounting data. The most ideal candidate will operate with top-notch professionalism and have a strong financial and accounting acumen.

Specific Duties Include:

• Mentor a team of at least one Staff Accountant

• Responsible for accurate preparation, review, and disbursement of monthly financial statements ensuring reliability, integrity, and accuracy.

• Manage the general ledger and monthly close process including analyzing and reconciling accounts.

• Analyze financial reports and data, trends and costs, revenues, and cash management assuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

• Assist in the year-end audit process.

• Monitor inventory levels, accounts receivable aging, and supplier aging.

• Daily and monthly posting of transactions to balance and reconcile general ledger accounts.

• Maintain system integrity and interface with other systems in financial software applications.

• Identify, make recommendations and implement process improvements and efficiencies.   

• Stay current and follow GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)

• Assist in any additional projects provided by management

Position Requirements:

• Four-year Accounting Degree required

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred

• 5+ years in an accounting position (public or private)

• Working knowledge of GAAP and full accounting cycle

• Computer proficiency with Microsoft (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Internet applications 

• Proficiency with General Ledger, Payables and Billing systems

• Required to travel up to 10% 

The expected pay range for this role is $65,000 - $105,000 annually. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Actual placement within range will be contingent upon several factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, education, experience, internal equity, union status (where applicable) and alignment with market data.
