We are looking for a Senior Specialist, Procurement to join our team in Mills River, NC who will be responsible for planning and procurement of raw materials for UPM Raflatac factories and collaboration with suppliers on procurement matters improving their performance.

What you will do

  • Plan stock replenishment of raw materials (Paper, Film, Chemicals) according to production schedule, taking into consideration supply constraints, storage capacity & WOS (Weeks of Supply).

  • Monitor and adjust inventory parameters based on demand fluctuation including planning horizon, lead time, minimum stock level, safety stock, and future demand forecast.

  • Manage Contract/Blanket POs and the delivery releases to ensure we have the right product, at the right time, at the right place.

  • Collaborate and communicate with internal stakeholders to support Category initiatives.

  • Prepare supply forecasts for defined suppliers.

  • Coordinating process of opening new raw materials’ codes and vendors as well as maintaining specific data in systems linked to the items of responsibility.

  • Collaborate with suppliers OTD (On Time Delivery) performance and how we can improve efficiencies. Ensure new inventory and delivery practises implementation with suppliers as needed.

  • Coordinate claims to suppliers; ensure clear internal communication and with suppliers in order to handling claims efficiently.

  • Minimize non rotating raw material stock.

  • Present procurement aspects during internal meetings or with suppliers.

  • Provide cover to Procurement Specialists depending on needs and development plan.

Who you are

  • Requires any combination of education equivalent to a minimum of Bachelor of Science in Economics/ Logistics/ Supply Chain or related discipline.

  • Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in a similar role in production environment, preferably in the paper or converting industry

  • ERP system experience, SAP preferred

  • Experience utilizing Business Intelligence software (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)

  • A team player and the ability to lead others

  • Need for continued professional development required.

  • Needs to show logical problem-solving ability, while demonstrating enthusiasm, creativity, and initiative.
