As a Senior Specialist in Communications at Carvana, you will be at the forefront of shaping and amplifying our narrative across a variety of media channels. What you’ll be doing

  • Act as a relentless advocate for Carvana’s story, pitching to media outlets and fostering strong relationships with journalists.
  • Become a subject matter expert on our industry, markets, and technology.
  • Respond to media inquiries, managing communications during crises with poise and precision.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create engaging content that showcases our brand identity and consumer-centric stories.
  • Monitor ongoing trends and seize opportunities to insert Carvana into relevant dialogues within the media landscape.
  • Maintain consistent, on-brand messaging across all communication channels.
  • Develop compelling communications assets such as press releases, media alerts, proactive media pitches, and media briefings.
  • Other duties as assigned.


What you should know/have

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, communications or related field required.
  • 3+ years of experience in public relations and/or communications roles with a focus on media relations.
  • Proven track record of success in pitching stories and securing media coverage in national publications.
  • Strong crisis communication skills with the ability to manage sensitive situations effectively.
  • Comfort working in a high-visibility role where you will interact with senior leadership and need to perform well under pressure.
  • Exceptional writing skills, able to articulate stories that captivate and engage diverse audiences.
  • A proactive mindset, willing to explore unconventional angles to ensure Carvana’s story is heard.
  • Experience with public company reporting communications, ensuring compliance and clarity in all disclosures.
