Job Description

Core Responsibilities

The Solution Architect role requires broad technical expertise and superlative analysis and design skills. Comcast’s video publishing system and custom solutions are extensive and require in-depth technical understanding to apply them effectively. 

 

As a customer-facing role, consulting skills and good executive presence are essential. Solution Architects are equally at home talking business strategy with executive management or detailed technical design with development teams. 

 

This is not a developer role, however the solutions architect frequently reads/reviews code and prototypes new functionality in order to evaluate options. Development experience is essential and a background of technical program management would be an advantage. 

 

This position offers a tremendous opportunity to learn from a broad range of customers, technologies and projects, and a chance to work with some of the largest media organizations in the world.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a deep understanding of CTS’s broad product set and roadmap
  • Understand customers roadmaps and pain points. Identify how these align with CTSs
  • Act as primary technical contact with customers and partners, representing CTS in discussions with client engineering and business departments
  • Gather product requirements and design solutions using our product where applicable or for custom components when not
  • Evaluate and prototype solution designs to satisfy these requirements using CTS’ products and services
  • Design bespoke products and services to fulfill a project's particular needs
  • Communicate designs to development teams and see solutions through to implementation and operation
  • Work with customers and partners to integrate systems
  • Mentor other architects and engineers

Requirements:

  • 10+ years experience building software and solutions for enterprise or cloud scale.
  • Ability to read and review code and whip up scripts for proof of concepts
  • Experience in media streaming and broadcasting is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Experience with microservices and API design (preferably OpenApi) 
  • Experience designing robust cloud native solutions (preferably AWS)
  • Strong sense of responsibility and ownership for the success of projects
  • Software engineering best practices such as CI/CD, TDD
  • Some development experience, preferably with Python, Java, Javascript or C#.NET

Compensation

Primary Location Pay Range: $119,287.80 - $178,931.70

Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience.
