Summary:

The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for bringing new digital products to market and

enhance existing ones by leveraging your expertise in software development with state-of-the-art

industry frameworks collaborating closely with product management on engineering teams. This role

works within Curriculum Associates’ Artificial Intelligence team to support educators and students

through a variety of internal tools focused on content efficiency and field team support.

Essential duties/responsibilities:

1. Design, code, test, and deploy features for an internal chatbot application and future AI

initiatives in collaboration with product owners and data scientists

2. Collaborate with architects and senior engineers to design robust software ensuring seamless

customer experience at scale.

3. Operate with a continuous improvement mindset, conducting code and design reviews, as well

as leveraging state-of-the-art code quality and productivity tools.

4. Develop automated unit and integration tests to accompany all application code.

5. Contribute ideas and effort to improve efficiency of our software development lifecycle.

6. Drive code maintainability by addressing technical debt and defects proactively.

7. Maintain and update applications to ensure reliability and performance.

8. Communicate clearly and consistently utilizing verbal and written forms, to ensure seamless

progress on shared team goals.

9. Engage in personal and peer development through mentorship program participation.

10. Engage in proactive learning to improve functional as well as technical knowledge.

Required Job Skills and Abilities:

11. Strong communication skills.

12. Experience with multiple frameworks and languages, advanced skills in at least one.

13. Experience delivering cloud hosted software services at scale.

14. Experience working in an Agile environment, including experience with Scrum.

Required Education and Experience:

15. Bachelor’s in computer science preferred

16. 5+ years of experience in one more of the following: Python, React.js, Javascript, AWS

technologies (s3, DynamoDB, ECS, etc.)

17. Experience interfacing with AI systems or machine learning models is a plus
