POSITION SUMMARY
As a Full Stack Software Engineer, you will work within the Engineering department to design, develop, and support enterprise solutions by contributing to the products and infrastructure for CIQ. You will also maintain our systems' capacity and performance. You need to be able to troubleshoot and improve applications and processes. You’ll analyze current code and industry developments to design engineering solutions to solve problems and create seamless user experiences. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Drive and contribute to architecture-level discussions, planning, and implementation
- Research to ensure what we are building is always the best path forward
- Document each project to share knowledge and facilitate integration for users
- Drive proof of concepts and minimal viable products for demonstration
- Support multiple services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning, and launch reviews
- Improve products by collaborating with Engineering, Product, and Design teams, using real user metrics and feedback to drive optimal and relevant solutions
NEEDED TO SUCCEED
Successful candidates will demonstrate CIQ’s core values and improve the Engineering and company culture. The ideal candidate should have:
- Expertise in frontend technologies (React, TypeScript) and backend technologies (Node.js, API design, and database management)
- Proficiency in TypeScript, Web Accessibility, and React
- Strong problem-solving skills and an eagerness to learn
- The ability to pivot to new challenges in a fast-paced startup environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment
- A friendly, collaborative, humble, honest, and always striving-to-be-better attitude.
- Flexibility to support an on-call rotation.
- Exposure to cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure) and DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD) is a plus
- Understanding of relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Firebase) databases
- Familiarity with automated testing and secure coding practices (OWASP)
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 3 years of software development experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience with React or a comparable library, with a willingness to learn React
- Experience with Gatsby preferred
