The Senior Software Engineer plays a key role in guiding technical solutions and supporting the engineering team. They contribute to the architecture and design of software systems, ensuring reliability and scalability. With strong problem-solving abilities, they address technical challenges and optimize system performance. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential for driving product development and innovation. The Senior Software Engineer upholds coding standards, performs code reviews, and implements best practices. They stay current with industry trends and continuously expand their expertise in emerging technologies to contribute effectively to project goals.

Principal Responsibilities and Standards

  • Lead the design and architecture of software systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and high performance.
  • Solve complex technical challenges and optimize system performance through innovative solutions.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical leadership and direction to help them grow.
  • Ability to write and maintain user documentation.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams, including product, QA, and operations, to drive product development and ensure successful delivery
  • Adhere to Best Practices with company software
  • Work in accordance to The Re:Build Way

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience developing professional software, with a solid understanding of cloud-based application development
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with peers, key business partners and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Experience mentoring junior developers and contributing to a team-focused development environment.
  • Ability to work in an agile setting and contribute to sprint planning, retrospectives, and  cross departmental team efforts.
  • Knowledge of algorithms and other computer science fundamentals
  • Advanced skills in designing and developing highly interactive, visually engaging, and scalable user interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks such as React. Proficient knowledge of UI architecture, design passionate about components, and managing state with an emphasis on performance, accessibility, and smooth user experience in responsive web applications.
  • Familiarity with backend development, particularly in C#, for creating reliable and efficient microservices.
  • Proficiency in AWS services, including EC2, S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, and API Gateway.
  • Proficiency with API technologies, including REST and GraphQL.
  • Familiarity with operating system internals, including Linux and Windows.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
