Our Data Engineering team is the backbone of Attentive’s data infrastructure, processing and storing data at massive scale and speed. We handle Billions of events from over 100 million customers daily, enabling AI-driven capabilities and analytics. We’re looking for a self-motivated, highly driven Senior Software Engineer to bolster our Integrations Engineering team. Our team is focused on building a platform to integrate with Attentive’s top partners to support processing 50,000 customer events and 100,000 webhooks per second.

In this role you’ll design and implement innovative, high availability, high volume event processing systems to ingest first-party data and drive forward-looking solutions to track user behavior with appropriate privacy, data quality and compliance. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve the rate at which we can ship data collection features and help keep Attentive at the forefront of effective data collection in a rapidly evolving, privacy-focused landscape.

What you'll accomplish

• You understand how to negotiate with Product Management to meet the user’s needs without sacrificing quality or accruing tech debt
• You deeply loathe regressions and take proactive steps to protect against them through a variety of testing techniques
• You are constantly improving the quality of the project you are working on, both via code contributions as well as long-term advocacy for larger-scale changes
• Build amazing consumer experiences, taking responsibility for code quality, scalability, reliability and performance

Your expertise

• You have worked professionally with web technologies for 5+ years
• You have development experience with either Java, Python or Go
• You have development experience with databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
• You have experience architecting applications for high scale
• You have a proven track record of building applications that maintain a high bar of quality
• You are excited by new technologies but are conscious of choosing them for the right reasons

• 8,000 brands powered by Attentive sent over 2.2 billion text messages over Cyber Week 2023 (Black Friday/Cyber Monday) representing a growth of 31% from 2022
• We sent 32 billion SMS messages in 2023, up 32% YoY. That’s an average of 87 million per day
• Our production cluster contains over 18,000 containers which serve 200+ services
• Our streaming services process over 80 billion events per month

What we use

• We use a wide variety of technology and we’re always looking for the best solutions to solve hard problems
• Our backend is Java / Spring Boot microservices, built with Gradle, coupled with things like DynamoDB, Pulsar, AirFlow, Postgres, Planetscale, and Redis, hosted via AWS
• Our frontend is built with React and TypeScript, and uses best practices like GraphQL, Storybook, Radix UI, Vite, esbuild, and Playwright

- The US base salary range for this full-time position is $144,840 - $210,000 annually + equity + benefits
