Job Description:
Space Ground System Solutions (SGSS), a Parsons company, has an immediate full‐time opening for a software engineer at our customer site in Washington, DC. The position will be part of a small team, which provides software development and testing for embedded software at the Tactical Electronic Warfare Department of the US Naval Research Laboratory (NRL). A successful applicant will have a track record of delivering software in individual or small‐team environments. Candidates with experience delivering capability into established and supported codebases or working with distributed open‐source development teams will be favored.
What You'll Be Doing:
- C++ software development on a Linux platform
- Enhancement and upgrades of existing software, as well as development of new software
- Managing the entire software development life cycle including technical requirements, architecture/design, development, testing, and deployment
- Research, test, build, and coordinate the integration of new products per production and client requirements
- Troubleshoot technical issues arising within the production environment and track/update progress
- Ability to work in a cooperative team environment
- Ability to adapt rapidly to changing requirements and schedules
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Must possess and maintain an active SECRET clearance
- Must be a US citizen
- 5+ years’ experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field (i.e., Computer Science, Software Engineer, Information Technology) and a minimum of five (5) year professional experience in a relative field
- Experience designing, developing, debugging, and implementing complex, embedded software systems using C++
- Experience with software development on a Linux platform
- Understanding of networking technology, TCP/IP and common internet application protocols
- Experience creating, integrating, and documenting APIs
- Experience with integration of open source and proprietary software libraries
- Experience designing, developing, and debugging performance‐critical, multi‐threaded software
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
- Experience with GUI development using Qt
- Experience in Windows Development
- Experience in Python Development

Salary Range:
$104,200.00 - $182,400.00
