Senior Software Engineer (Typescript and React)

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to work on a project in the e-commerce and website performance optimization sector.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play an important role in scaling, and optimizing our client’s core platform and product offerings. Your expertise will drive significant technical improvements and enhance customer satisfaction through effective collaboration and technical contributions.

We are looking for someone with good communication skills, ideally with experience making coding decisions, being proactive, used to building software from scratch, and with good attention to detail. 

What you will do:

- Exert influence over your team members in a collaborative culture that fosters effective problem-solving.

- Collaborate with your team and across the organization to execute initiatives and the technical roadmap.

- Assist your team’s stakeholders in translating the technical vision into actionable backlogs.

- Develop and implement designs of engineering projects. 

- Solve complex technical problems effectively.

- Work with the Product team to implement new internal/external features and enhance our existing product offering.

- Deliver extremely high-impact features and improvements with minimal guidance.

- Provide guidance and mentorship for junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

- Foster conversations to remove blockers and encourage collaboration.

- Help your team escalate issues when facing complex technical challenges.

- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to continually improve our systems and products.

- Expose technology and organizational needs throughout the department to ensure continuous alignment and improvement.

What you will bring:

- 7+ years of software engineering experience, with a strong background in building and scaling multi-tenant SaaS platforms.

- Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Typescript (preferred), Python, Javascript. 

- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS), infrastructure as code (e.g., Pulumi), and data storage solutions (e.g., Postgres, Redshift).

- Demonstrated ability to implement scalable, distributed systems.

- Proficiency in and SQL, with the ability to analyze data and build data-driven products.

- Demonstrated experience in optimizing website performance and speed, with a fair understanding of web performance best practices, tools (e.g., Lighthouse, WebPageTest), and techniques for reducing load times and improving user experience.

- Fair understanding of browser optimization techniques, including the use of web workers, lazy loading, code splitting, and other strategies to improve front-end performance.

- Familiarity with content delivery networks (e.g., Cloudflare), DNS, message queues (e.g., SQS, Kinesis), and CI/CD pipelines.

- Familiarity with e-commerce platforms such as Shopify and Salesforce Commerce Cloud is a plus.

- Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication and organization, and a collaborative mindset.

- Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
