The Fulfillment tech family is one of the pillars enabling Grab to out-serve our customers and partners in different businesses and marketplaces across Southeast Asia. We are working on high throughput, real-time distributed systems that use advanced software engineering techniques to solve hundreds of millions of requests per day. We are a distributed team in 4 different locations: Singapore, Beijing, Indonesia, and Malaysia. Our communication is in English, both in spoken and written form.

Get to Know the Role

We are looking for an Automation Engineer for test automation. We believe a successful candidate has 2+ years’ experience as a Quality Engineer / Automation Engineer or Software Development Engineer and is familiar with one of the test scripts Python/Golang/Java experiment for product automation, but if you believe you have what it takes then we’d love to hear from you either way. As an Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and enhancing automation tests for both backend services and mobile applications. This role is required because we are supporting the critical path and continually growing business. In return, you will get an opportunity to work with a creative team and help Southeast Asia people have a better life. 

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts using industry-standard test automation frameworks and tools for both backend services and mobile applications.

• Lead team to define test plans, test specifications, test suites, test cases as well as proposed tools for functional, security, and performance testing in a programmatic manner

• Enable the team to create and maintain test cases, test scenarios, and test data to ensure maximum test coverage and effectiveness.

• Enable the team to perform functional, regression, and performance testing of backend services and mobile applications to identify defects and ensure product quality.

• Understand the product/business/feature in-depth from the end-user's point of view and the underlying implementation. Collaborate with developers to analyze and troubleshoot issues, and provide detailed bug reports with clear steps to reproduce.

• Work closely with the Product Manager, Frontend, and Backend developers to understand the context and the implementation to develop new automated tests and tools.

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• A degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology or related fields

• 2+ years of experience as QA Engineer/Automation Engineer or Software Development Engineer

• Solid understanding of test methodologies, test planning, and test case design

• Have hands-on coding experience with test automation (Mobile app and API automation), including script languages (Python) or other languages (Javascript, Go etc.)

• Proficiency in basic Linux commands and shell scripting

• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes

• Experience using build and release pipeline tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD or equivalent
