Senior Software Engineer, Networking (Backend: C++, Go) | Based in San Jose, CA
Disclaimer: This role requires experience in the following areas:
- 5+ years of software development experience coding in C++ and/or Go
- Expertise in Networking (L2/L3 protocols, troubleshooting latency/congestion)
- Strong knowledge of large-scale distributed systems
Cohesity offers a web-scale, hybrid cloud infrastructure for data management. We are looking for Software Engineers who are motivated, passionate, and eager to improve Cohesity’s Products and by working on features, tools, scripts that will make it easy to sell, deploy and maintain. You are not only a Software Engineer who crafts and implements features but should have a curiosity about diagnosing problems in large bodies of sophisticated code, understand scalability and performance and work on fixes with rapid turnaround time and high quality. You will be part of our Product Engineering team and willing to work with Product Managers and more meaningfully with Customer Support, System Engineers, and Customers.
Responsibilities (What you will be doing)
- Design, develop and maintain innovative products for our on-prem as well as SaaS offerings
- Collaborate with product management and multi-functional leads, on technical strategy to craft the future product roadmap for Cohesity’s infinitely scalable platform.
- Implement product features for on-prem and cloud platforms.
- Drive accountability for test-driven development, delivery of high-quality features, and resilient enterprise class solutions
- Lead a culture of team ownership and direct individual and team accountability to continuously improve how we work and achieve results.
- Collaborate in the Agile development processes.
Qualifications (What you will bring along)
- BS/MS in Computer Science or Engineering.
- Strong coding experience in C++ or Go
- 5+ years of networking product development experience focused around L2/L3 protocols
- Strong understanding of networking deployment in cloud environment
- Deep understanding of troubleshooting network congestion and latency issues
- 3+ years of developing and solving problems for large scale distributed systems
- Strong coding, analytical, debugging, and troubleshooting skills
- Problem-solver who can investigate and tackle sophisticated problems/issues.
- Bring solid testing methodologies and a passion for building quality products
- Knowledge of Microservices, SaaS architecture, Cloud-native services is a plus
Disclosure Pursuant to Applicable State Equal Pay Transparency Laws - This position has a starting pay range as listed below. Actual salary depends upon many factors, including a candidate’s skills, qualifications and experience, location, and salary expectations, and therefore a starting salary at the low end, high end, or even above the stated range may be offered. This position may also be eligible for bonus compensation, commission (if in a sales function), and/or equity grants. Additionally, full-time employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive benefits framework, including health and wellness benefits, vacation, paid holidays and refresh days, 401(k) retirement plan, life and disability insurance coverages, and other benefits the Company may offer from time to time.
US Pay Range
$164,000—$205,000 USD
