Are you looking for a cutting-edge tech stack to work with and to make an impact on a daily basis? We are currently forming a team of mobile engineers dedicated to developing and maintaining Mobile SDKs for our customers and we are looking for a new colleague to join as a Senior Software Engineer for Mobile (Android) SDK. The salary range starts at 3500€ per month, along with restricted stock units and other benefits. Working in one of our Central European offices or from home on a full-time basis, you‘ll become a core part of the Engineering Team

What challenge awaits you? 

As a Senior Software Engineer for Mobile (Android) SDK at our company, you'll encounter exciting, high-end technical challenges. You'll be part of a team that delivers innovative features, enabling our clients to build powerful mobile applications using Mobile SDKs on their preferred platforms (Android, iOS, React Native, Flutter, MAUI). These SDKs track user behavior and provide capabilities to deliver personalized content. You’ll work on implementing and extending components that provide features like push notifications, in-app messaging, tracking, dynamic rendering, and many more.

Your job will be to: 

  1. Design & Deliver new features 
  2. Ensure quality and compatibility 
  3. Support and Maintain owned components 
  4. Design & Deliver new features 
  • Translate business requirements for product features into detailed technical specifications and comprehensive design documents. 
  • Define and develop new features with a strong emphasis on quality, usability, and performance. 
  • Build, publish and monitor new versions of Mobile SDKs, ensuring seamless adoption. 
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to incorporate best practices into the development process. 
  1. Ensure quality and compatibility 
  • Implement robust testing, and validation processes to ensure the reliability and stability of the new features. 
  • Measure and tune client-side performance of our features. 
  • Continuously improve the technical quality and ease of use of Mobile SDKs. ● Make sure we utilize all the mobile technologies in the best way - ensuring our Mobile SDKs are functional, secure and high performance.
  • Conduct regular code reviews and use static code analysis tools to maintain high code quality. 
  • Collaborate with QA engineers to develop comprehensive test plans and automated tests. 
  1. Support and Maintain owned components 
  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for existing features, including troubleshooting issues, fixing bugs, and implementing enhancements. ● Support our client-facing colleagues in the investigation of possible issues (L3 support). 
  • Document code including guides, configuration instructions, feature descriptions, design decisions, and operational procedures to facilitate ongoing maintenance and knowledge sharing. 
  • Utilize feedback from users and stakeholders to continually improve the functionality and usability of Mobile SDKs.

Main Tech Stack: 

  • Native Android: Kotlin, Maven, Gradle, Google Services, JaCoCo, JUnit, Robolectric

Extended Tech Stack:

  • Native iOS: Swift, Carthage, CocoaPods, Swift Package Manager, Fastlane, Quick (Nimble, Mockingjay) 
  • React Native Wrapper (Android & iOS): React Native, JavaScript & TypeScript, CocoaPods, Yarn, npm, Babel, Jest 
  • Flutter Wrapper (Android & iOS): Flutter, Dart, CocoaPods 
  • MAUI Wrapper (Android & iOS): C# & .NET, NUnit 

Common Tech Stack: 

  • Software & Tools - Grafana, Sentry, GitHub, GitLab, Jira, Productboard 

While we don’t expect you to work actively with all SDKs, the ability to cover more than one would be a welcomed advantage. 

You will be developing new features and maintaining the codebase to ensure compatibility with different versions. Therefore, you should be passionate about new features in mobile technologies, and be keen to investigate how personalization may work in the context of today's privacy-focused digital world. 

The Mobile SDKs are being integrated with internal APIs written in Golang, which run on top of Kubernetes and Google Cloud owned by a different team. You will not be expected to actively contribute, but a sense of understanding will be an advantage. 

Your success story will be:

  • In 30 Days: Successfully onboard, get familiar with Mobile SDKs, and contribute to ongoing tasks, demonstrating understanding of the codebase and team processes. 
  • In 90 Days: Contribute to design discussions and independently deliver high-quality code for assigned features. Participate in investigating and resolving production issues. 
  • In 180 Days: Independently manage larger tasks, contribute to team improvements, and confidently handle L3 support, investigating and resolving production issues. 

You have the following experience and qualities: 

  1. Professional — Proven experience in native mobile development (Android), knowledge of wrappers, mobile ecosystem, system design, and maintenance. 2. Personal — Demonstrates strong initiative, ability to work within a team, communication skills, and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement. 

Professional experience 

  • Proven experience in the area of Android mobile development, which is essential for building Mobile SDKs.
  • Overview of technologies and programming languages used for wrapping mobile applications (for example: React Native, Flutter). 
  • Solid understanding of the mobile development ecosystem. An experience in building libraries or SDKs is an advantage. Familiarity with the build and publishing of mobile applications. 
  • Experience with dynamic rendering would be a valued asset. 
  • Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines. We utilize Git for code management and CI/CD pipelines for efficient development and deployment.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
