Senior Software Engineer II
About Our Team:
This position involves performing complex research, design, and software development assignments within a software functional area or product line. You will provide direct input to project plans, schedules, and methodologies in the development of cross-functional software products. This role also includes mentoring team members and translating user and customer requests into solutions.
About the Role:
You will work on software design across multiple systems, mentor junior team members, and communicate with users and customers to understand their needs and translate those needs into solutions.
Responsibilities:

Collaborate with other technical personnel or team members to finalize requirements.

Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of complex system components.

Complete complex bug fixes.
-
Work closely with other development team members to understand complex product requirements and translate them into software designs.

Implement development processes, coding best practices, and conduct code reviews.

Operate in various development environments (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) while collaborating with key stakeholders.

Resolve complex technical issues as necessary.
-
Provide training and mentorship to entry-level software engineers.

Stay updated on new technological developments.
-
Design and work with complex data models.
-
Mentor less-experienced software developers on development methodologies and optimization techniques.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

5+ years of Software Engineering experience
-
Experience in software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall)

Proficiency with data manipulation languages including optimization techniques

Understanding of normalized/dimensional data modeling principles
-
Knowledge of multiple data storage subsystems
-
Experience with development languages such as Java/J2EE, JavaScript, React, Next.js, Rest APIs, AWS services, Spring

Strong research skills
-
Familiarity with industry best practices in development

Experience with applicable tool sets

Ability to interface with other technical personnel or team members to finalize requirements

Ability to work well with internal and external technology resources

Knowledge of test-driven development
-
Ability to write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of complex system components

Ability to complete complex bug fixes

Good oral and written communication skills
