About the team
At HubSpot, the Reach & Reputation group is responsible for building great products to help social media marketers and advertisers grow their businesses. Our product enables social media marketers and advertisers to build meaningful campaigns, engage with audiences, and draw insights across multiple social media networks.
The Marketing Integration Reliability team’s mission is to build a reliable & scalable platform to communicate efficiently with third-party networks heavily relied upon by the Reach & Reputation Product Group’s users. Our goal is to ensure that our teams are well-equipped to react and respond to third-party outages & bugs. We aim to enable teams to manage their existing marketing integrations and add new third party integrations reliably.
We’re looking for experienced engineers excited by the opportunity to work at scale and passionate about improving the reliability and uptime of APIs relied upon by the HubSpot Ads & Social apps. We favor forward-thinking engineers who can identify and remediate problems before they happen, and understand how to build platforms that are intuitive to use, highly performant, and extremely reliable.
At HubSpot, we thrive by working on small, autonomous, cross-functional teams. You and your team set the goals, set the timelines, build the software & tests, and carry the pager.
As a Senior Software Engineer II, you’ll get to:
- Write and ship production code that has meaningful user and business impact
- Envision, build, and analyze new features and tools, each contributing to the reliability of the group’s systems
- Partner with your team to set goals, and timelines, build the software, tests, and carry the pager.
- Write micro-services, primarily with Java (our APIs are RESTful and use the minimal Dropwizard framework)
- Build reliability features to help scale our third-party integrations with Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn and more, working with webhooks, and RESTful APIs
- Work with MySql, HBase, Hadoop, Kafka, Dropwizard, and more
- Proactively take ownership of the team’s on-call health, reliability, and quality.
We’re looking for folks who:
- Enjoy mentoring and coaching other team members in a psychologically safe way, while also being open to learning from them as well.
- Have a thirst for technical and reliability challenges with big data and distributed systems
- Consistently work to deliver reliable, performant, well-tested code
- Take ownership, work collaboratively, and figure things out
- Have a customer-centric attitude and form insights about the HubSpot product.
Get in touch! We’d love to talk to you about our team.
