Job Description
Cash App's Financial Platform team is responsible for building systems that power products built by Cash App. We build deep integrations with underlying financial infrastructures and ensure that our products are able to scale.
About the teams that are hiring in the US & Canada on Financial Platform:
Card Payment Execution:
The Card Payment Execution team processes millions of debit and credit card transactions daily, powering payments across Cash App. We build high-performance, low-latency systems to ensure fast, seamless, and reliable payment experiences.
We work closely with teams at Visa, Mastercard, and other card networks to enable new product capabilities and improve how money moves. Whether funding a wallet, purchasing Bitcoin, or making instant transfers, our work ensures payments are fast and secure.
You will:

• Collaborate with Product Managers and engineers to build integrations with underlying financial infrastructures and ensure that our products are able to scale.
• Help design, build and support the core systems used to power the foundation of banking features on Cash App and Square
• Participate in the refactoring and uplift of existing systems and development of new ones
• Creatively solve challenging technical problems
• Have autonomy to research and achieve outcomes with support when you need it

You have:

• 5+ years of experience delivering quality software
• Natural curiosity to learn new technologies, solve interesting problems and build quality software
• Desire to find flaws in a system with many moving parts and take whatever steps are necessary to fix them
• Desire to perform and grow as an engineer
• Technical initiative and leadership on previous projects

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Zone A: USD $180,000 - USD $270,000
Zone B: USD $171,000 - USD $256,600
Zone C: USD $162,000 - USD $243,000
Zone D: USD $153,000 - USD $229,600
