• Create and deliver tailored experimentation systems across Zalando's diverse domains, contributing to the full development lifecycle from initial architecture design to testing and maintenance. You'll work with a range of technologies, primarily backend-focused, but with opportunities to utilize your fullstack skills.

• Partner closely with Principal Engineers and Applied Scientists to ensure alignment on architectural vision and experimentation methodologies.

• Work with stakeholders across different departments to understand their experimentation needs and translate them into effective solutions.

• Exercise technical leadership and ownership, proactively seeking opportunities to break down silos and drive creative solutions that benefit the broader organization.

• Embrace a highly collaborative environment, effectively working with engineers across multiple teams and domains to deliver impactful solutions.

• Demonstrate a pragmatic approach to problem-solving, crafting scalable solutions that address diverse needs within a dynamic and evolving ecosystem.

• Solid experience as a Software Engineer, contributing to the development and deployment of distributed systems, ideally in a cloud-native environment.

• Demonstrated ability to take ownership of projects and deliver high-quality solutions, collaborating effectively with other engineers and stakeholders.

• Strong understanding of data flow, scalability considerations, and continuous integration/deployment processes.

• Experience with data-rich applications and an understanding of data processing techniques is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with experimentation platforms, data engineering concepts, or experimentation methodologies is a plus as is experience with one or more of the relevant programming languages (Java, Scala, Kotlin, Python, TypeScript, NodeJS)
