As a team, we focus on extracting performance critical components into highly optimized horizontal components which provide leverage for all Nextdoor’s product engineers.
The primary focus of the team is an iterative investment in a distributed, globally replicated graph store with high availability tiered caching. You’ll work with product engineers to understand their pain points and identify high leverage opportunities to improve developer experience and scalability of our systems. Our goal is for the infrastructure to do the heavy lifting so that our product engineers can spend every minute of their time focused on their product areas and metrics.

What We Do
Nextdoor is where neighborhoods happen — and connections are made. Nextdoor connects neighbors to each other — and to everything nearby: Local businesses, services, news updates, recommendations and stuff for sale from the people down the block.
Building connections in the real world is a universal human need. That truth, and the reality that neighborhoods are among the most important communities in our lives, have been guiding principles for Nextdoor since the beginning.
Neighbors around the world rely on Nextdoor to:
- Recommend and discover local restaurants and shops
- Buy and sell gently used furniture and other goods
- Spread the word about a lost or found (!) pet
- Help neighbors with grocery runs or pharmacy pickups
- Meet neighbors over a cup of coffee or organize a walking group
- Stay up on the latest safety news from local public agencies
