As a Principal Services Consultant, you will be responsible for guiding our most sophisticated prospects and customers through the process of determining the right implementation and service strategy to support both their initial and long-term success with HubSpot. HubSpot is rapidly expanding upmarket, and as we serve more customers with advanced requirements and complex tech stacks, we need people who can advise and recommend the best way to deploy our software to meet our customer’s business goals. We are looking for motivated team members who have strong communication skills, a passion for solving challenging problems, strong business, and technical acumen, and the desire to help build up HubSpot’s growing enterprise team.

In the Principal Services Consultant role, you will be positioned as a leader on the team, responsible for helping drive improvement and innovation in the team’s tactical, strategic, and operational approach across all areas of focus. 

In this role, you’ll get to:

  • Recommend the right implementation approach and ongoing services for HubSpot's most complex, strategically important, and highest-paying customers, to lead the customer to long-term success with HubSpot
    • Diagnose customer needs based on business objectives and technical requirements
    • Create customized implementation plans and recommend services and/or Solutions Partners based on customers' unique needs
    • Work directly with the customer or partner to define resource needs
    • Establish clear milestones, project plans, and timelines for execution
    • Present plans to the customer's Executive team
    • Influence customer purchase decisions by driving urgency and certainty in recommended solutions
  • Provide advice and recommendations for HubSpot best practices, business processes, deployment planning, and change management to HubSpot prospects
  • Contribute to the growth of the enterprise practice by enhancing alignment between Sales and Services teams, customizing implementation solutions for customers, and innovating on solutions for the upmarket segment
  • Build deep relationships with top accredited Solutions Partners to:
    • Enhance the quality of recommendations
    • Contribute to partner development by providing feedback directly and through PDMs
    • Enhance effectiveness of partner accreditations
  • Lead key team initiatives, responsible for project management, execution, enablement and results
  • Proactively contribute to team operational process, consulting tactics and methodology

We are looking for people who:

  • Have a customer first mindset and a consultative approach to problem solving
  • Have deep implementation expertise with complex SaaS software (CRM, ERP, etc) for large, complex customers 
  • Have experience helping large customers drive significant organizational change
  • Have experience driving value conversations to executive teams
  • Have pre-sale experience creating custom statements of work or custom implementation plans for complex service solutions
  • Have experience consulting on and positioning the business ROI of engaging with recommended services
  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Have the ability to provide a level of certainty and urgency to a customer so they feel like they are making the right decision
  • Have a strategic mindset and can help customers with their long-term planning, recommending additional HubSpot products and services that will help them grow
  • Are very detailed-oriented and have strong project management skills
  • Have a strong technical aptitude, with a deep understanding of integrations, APIs, and technical strategy


Cash compensation range: 125,000 - 165,000 USD Annually

The cash compensation above includes base salary, on-target commission for employees in eligible roles, and annual bonus targets under HubSpot’s bonus plan for eligible roles. In addition to cash compensation, all HubSpotters are eligible to participate in HubSpot’s equity plan to receive restricted stock units (RSUs). Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Individual compensation packages are based on a few different factors unique to each candidate, including their skills, experience, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
