Role Summary
Kinesso Malaysia is seeking a Senior Scrum Master who will be working with a few scrum teams on facilitating best agile practices to accomplish team goals and ensuring iteration quality. This includes the management of iteration throughput, tracking, communicating, and providing transparency of iteration health, team development and overall iteration facilitation for the teams in parallel. The Senior Scrum Master is also adept at continuous improvement, team empowerment practices and leading other Scrum Masters.
Key Responsibilities
- Be a people person with excellent communication skills, thorough knowledge and good working skills of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, continual improvement, empowerment, and transparency
- The Senior Scrum Master will play a crucial role in guiding multiple agile teams, ensuring the effective implementation of Scrum practices, and driving continuous improvement. Champion Agile principles and values to the Scrum team(s). Drive change by mentoring and coaching the team(s) to embrace the Agile values, best practices, and lead by example.
- This individual will work closely with product owners, development teams, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality products on time and within scope. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in agile methodologies, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to facilitate complex, cross-functional projects.
- Agile Leadership: Facilitate the adoption and adherence to Scrum practices and principles across multiple teams. Coach and mentor Scrum Masters and team members in agile methodologies, processes and practices as needed. Lead PMO org. wide initiatives
- Sprint Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and review of sprints. Ensure that teams are meeting their commitments, managing impediments, and continuously improving their processes.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between development teams and stakeholders. Ensure clear, transparent communication and manage expectations effectively.
- Impediment Removal: Proactively identify and resolve any obstacles that may impede the team's progress. Implement solutions to improve team productivity and efficiency.
- Metrics and Reporting: Document processes and practices in Confluence. Synthesize status information into consumable dashboards and reports. Track and analyze team performance metrics, such as velocity and burn-down charts. Analyze historical execution data to surface problematic areas and propose appropriate adjustments to the SDLC. Provide insights and recommendations for improvement based on data-driven analysis.
- Facilitation: Lead the Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and reviews. Foster an environment of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning. As a servant leader, inspire, guide, coach and empower the team(s) to be a self-managing and cross functional cohesive unit. Facilitate getting the work done through discussion, decision making and conflict resolution.
- Agile Transformation: Contribute to the broader agile transformation strategy by conducting workshops, training sessions and development of best practices.
- Continuous Learning and Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in Agile methodologies. Continuously seek opportunities to enhance the Agile platform, refine processes, and drive innovation within the organization.
Requirements
- People-person. Lives and breathes agile.
- Minimum of 8 years of total IT experience and a minimum of 5 years as a Scrum Master, with at least 2 years in a senior SM role. Proven experience managing multiple agile teams, agile transformations and complex projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field. Advanced degree / Master's is a plus.
- Advanced Certified ScrumMaster (A-CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM II), or equivalent. Advanced certifications (e.g., SAFe Agilist) are a plus.
- Proficient with agile project tracking tools such as Jira, Jira Plan, Jira Dashboards etc.
- Familiarity with common agile engineering best practices
- Good understanding of latest Technologies. Exposure to service-oriented environments and data engineering projects is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and exceptional emotional intelligence.
- Highly motivated, self-driven problem solver. Ability to identify and resolve team impediments.
- Good organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking
- Working experience in a distributed team setup
