We’re looking for energetic, highly motivated professionals to join our team as a Senior Environmental Scientist in the Orlando area. This position will lead environmental permitting and project management for one of our main transportation clients. Some of the duties include project, schedule, and task management; team and agency coordination; federal and state permitting, tracking, and mitigation planning; and compliance. The applicant should be capable of working independently, with strong technical writing, experience with quality control, and ability to handle multiple projects at once.

How will you contribute to the team?

• Execution of PM responsibilities on numerous projects
• Independently interface with FDOT and regulatory staff to accomplish project directives
• Monitor, coordinate and/or provide direction on quality control efforts
• Perform work which involves the preparation and completion of state and federal regulatory permits and mitigation plans
• Field activities would be limited but could include wetland delineation, threatened and endangered species surveys and relocations, and environmental compliance activities, and would mostly include overseeing others to do this work

What will you contribute?

• Education: B.S. or B.A. in Environmental Science, Marine Science, Biology, Zoology, Ecology, or related natural science field. MS. or Ph.D. preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 5 years with a Master’s degree.
• Demonstrated transportation project and permitting experience
• Lead and participate in projects with large-scale consultation needs with USACE, USFWS and FWC. Agency contacts a plus. Must have a strong understanding of federal, local, and state permitting requirements.  
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, technical writing, computer and communication skills required.
• NEPA (PD&E) experience desired, including preparation and review.
• Position requires driving a company vehicle; incumbent must have valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company policy.
• Travel will be required, but infrequent (~5%).
