Job Summary
Would you like to be part of a strong international team supporting Taste R&D research and commercial platforms? International Fragrances & Flavors Inc (IFF) is looking for a Senior Scientist to join our team in Tilburg, Netherlands.
Focus Areas:
Your focus will be on Taste analytical research using chromatographic techniques and a wide suite of detectors, with strong attention to GC/HPLC combined with MS and automation of the entire workflow. You are expected to assume an intellectually leading role in non-volatile quantitation. You will carefully balance fit-for-purpose methods with extensively validated methods.
Role Involvement:
This role involves conducting bench experiments employing a broad knowledge of organic, analytical, and physical chemistry. You will exercise independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results for project advancement.
Your tasks will include the following R&D programs as examples:

Remaster Meat: Provide analytical support around fat/fatty acid speciation and phospholipid support.

Reimagine Wellness: Offer analytical support in the development of target (non-volatile) molecules. Targets can originate from modeling as well as complex natural modulator systems.

Reimagine Simple: Support clean-label product development with analytical expertise.
Key responsibilities:
Development and Documentation: Create and document advanced analytical processes and workflows (60%). Data Analysis: Analyze and interpret data to provide solutions to technical problems (30%). Project Management: Act as a functional representative on project teams and technically manage assigned project areas (10%).
Who you are:

Technical Expertise: Demonstrated advanced technical knowledge in chromatographic separations (LC, IC, GPC, SEC, etc.) coupled with various detectors (UV, ELSD, RID, MS, etc.), sample preparation, and automation.

Organic Chemistry Knowledge: Ability to translate acquired analytical results into meaningful stakeholder information.

Educational Background: Ideally, you have a Ph.D. degree in Analytical Chemistry with more than 3 years of industrial experience or an MS degree in Analytical Chemistry with more than 9 years of industrial experience in sample preparation, automation, chromatography, and other relevant analysis techniques.

Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems.

Innovation Track Record: Proven success in developing and implementing new analytical technologies.

Preferred Experience: Experience in high-throughput analytical applications.

Demonstrated English language verbal, written, Dutch is a great asset
