Job Title:Senior Sales Engineer - Specialty Elastomers

Summary:This position is responsible for an overview on specialty elastomer commercial activities and drives elastomer business growth in Japan including liquid silicone rubber, custom compounds and specialty high consistent rubber. The market segments include materials for automotive, electronics, healthcare industries. This role has the primary responsibilities that interacts with customers and key accounts to provide total solutions, coordinates and leads daily commercial exercises, grows profitable business and closes new opportunities to expand Momentive’s share in the market.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage and grow elastomer business in Japan through further penetration, expansion and diversification of the customer base, to ensure that activities generate profitable growth (volume, margin, and profit).
  • Coordinate Japan daily commercial exercise such as sales estimate, forecast and demand management, key account interaction, annual and long term strategic plan, etc.
  • Seek out and initiate contact at new customers or new applications where you can articulate the value of Momentive specialty elastomers.
  • Ability to prioritize several initiatives simultaneously and create / maintain valuable customers.
  • Grow with key customers and provide total solutions to new customers, especially in automotive industry.
  • Owning the customer within the elastomer team and ensuring that their needs are accurately translated to a geographically dispersed team of technical service, marketing and R&D.

Qualifications:

The following are required for the role

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10+ business experience after getting degree (bachelor degree or above)
  • Minimum 5 years of previous sales experience with technical background, and a technical sales is preferred if with any material science or chemical background.
  • Fluent spoken and written Japanese and English.
  • Ability to travel frequently within the given territory.

Preferred Qualifications:

Working experience related to automotive is preferred.
