A Senior Reporting Analyst is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining reporting solutions that provide actionable insights to stakeholders across an organization. They work with various data sources, reporting tools, and collaborate closely with business analysts and data engineers to deliver comprehensive reporting solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
•Report Development:
•Design and create complex reports, dashboards, and visualizations using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, QlikView, or custom-built solutions.
•Translate business requirements into actionable reports and interactive dashboards.
•Data Analysis:
•Analyze and interpret data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
•Provide data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making.
•Data Integration:
•Integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
•Collaborate with data engineers to develop and maintain ETL processes.
•Data Quality Assurance:
•Implement data quality checks to ensure data integrity.
•Identify and address data quality issues as they arise.
•Audit reports produced by the team ensuring DTP is adhered to.
•Advanced Analytics:
•Use statistical and analytical techniques to extract deeper insights from data.
•Perform predictive and prescriptive analytics where applicable.
•Automation and Efficiency:
•Develop automated reporting processes to streamline report generation.
•Continuously seek ways to improve reporting efficiency and accuracy.
•Stakeholder Collaboration:
•Work closely with business analysts and stakeholders to understand reporting requirements.
•Communicate findings and insights effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
•Documentation and Training:
•Maintain documentation for reporting processes, data sources, and report definitions.
•Provide training and support to end-users on report usage.
•Leadership and Mentoring:
•Provide guidance and mentorship to junior reporting analysts or team members.
•Lead and manage reporting projects, including prioritization and resource allocation.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge
•General knowledge of insurance business and related market conditions preferred
•Several years of experience in data analysis and reporting, with a focus on advanced reporting tools, management techniques for insurance portfolios
•Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge
•Fundamental knowledge in Report template creation and design
Skills
•Proficiency in reporting and visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
•Strong technical skills SQL, SAS Base, SAS EG, for data manipulation and extraction.
•Solid understanding of data warehousing and ETL processes and tools like .
•Knowledge of statistical analysis and data modeling techniques.
•Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
•Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
•Effective communication and presentation skills.
•Leadership skills and the ability to manage projects and teams.
Experience
•8+ years of experience in SAS Base, SAS EG, SQL, Excel, Tableau, Power BI, Has been involved in multiple automation initiatives that delivered tangible benefits
•3+ years managing a team and automation/modernization projects
•At least 1 year’s experience in the financial services industry, preferably in insurance
•Working experience in a consulting or shared services environment preferred
•Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or any related field or equivalent work experience.
