Job Description
SEEK has embarked on a transformative journey to improve its Finance team and align it with the evolving needs of the business. As a pivotal step in this transformation, SEEK has consolidated its operational Finance functions across the APAC region.
This role will play a crucial role within the APAC Tax team, reporting directly to the Senior Tax Manager. This role encompasses responsibilities for income tax compliance, indirect tax compliance, tax effect accounting, fringe benefits tax compliance and Pillar 2 calculations across all SEEK entities. The Senior Regional Tax Specialist will assist in implementing comprehensive tax controls and have expertise in tax matters throughout the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare or assist tax agents in preparing direct, indirect and fringe benefits tax returns and ensure they are lodged before their due date.
- Ensure the appropriate teams have the vital information to enable tax payments to be made to Tax Authorities by due date.
- Maintain a “Tax Compliance Tracking Database” to evidence timely lodgement of all filings and tax-related payments.
- Prepare half-year and annual tax provision calculations together with associated income tax notes, in compliance with the SEEK Group accounting policies and local legislation.
- Prepare and collate information required for half-year and annual reporting audits to ensure smooth progress of work with auditors.
- Liaise with other finance teams (O2C, P2P, R2R, Financial Control, Treasury, and business partners) to ensure the accurate recording of transactions.
- Maintain “Tax” Transfer Pricing documentation.
- Work with the FP&A team to determine tax expense and tax payable for budgets and forecasts.
- Collaborate with tax authorities and tax agents responsible for compliance activities.
- Monitor and, if required, maintain documentation and filings to support compliance with tax incentives.
- Seek ways to constantly improve the processes within the Tax team.
- Keep collaborators advised of any potential delays or issues.
- Collaborate with collaborators from various teams within the SEEK business to ensure initiatives are prioritised and delivered on agreed timelines.
- Support the APAC Finance & Business Services function with additional ad-hoc tasks as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or similar qualification, or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience in Tax.
- Practical experience preparing and reviewing corporate income and indirect tax calculations, tax effect accounting calculations and regulatory filings across multiple countries in South East Asia. Experience in Australian and New Zealand tax would be an advantage.
- Experience working in a Tax Shared Service function is preferred.
- Experience crafting contemporaneous transfer pricing documentation is also preferred.
- Excellent English language is a must, both written and verbal.
- Any cross border experiences would be highly considered.
