Standard BioTools is seeking a dynamic, client-focused Manager for our pharma, biotech, academic, and government sales channels. This role will be a key player in developing and executing sales plans for the Company’s innovative platform at all levels of the client organization – from initiation through relationship management. Currently, efforts will focus on use of the SomaScan platform as a discovery tool, and the opportunity for these clients to utilize SomaSignal Tests from our platform for entry into and monitoring during clinical trials and commercialization of pharmaceuticals. As well as Standard BioTools Cytometry and Tissue imaging products portfolio (High-End Instruments and Consumables).
Essential Duties:

Manage multiple accounts in a relatively large territory at various stages of the cycle from prospecting through value delivery.

Manage accounts that are already engaged with the Company, maximizing value from and for them.

Must be able to evangelize a relatively unknown technology to result in adoption by pharma at all levels of the client organization.

Must be able to communicate technical data and information, both to and from accounts.

Guide customers through the deal process, from initial contact through value delivery including agreements that require data sharing resulting in content generation for the Company.

Assist with preparation of sales materials and collateral.

Participate in scientific conferences, tradeshows and related field support activities.

Achieve technical and applications knowledge on the product portfolio.

Represent the company professionally, ethically and morally at all times.
Candidate Specification:
-
Bachelor’s Degree required in the Life Sciences or related field; MBA, MS or PhD is a plus.
-
A demonstrated successful track record in pitching and completing deals with pharma and academia.
-
Knowledge of high parameters flow cytometry, imaging and/or digital pathology technologies, market dynamics and value propositions.
-
As well as deep knowledge of the pharmaceutical life cycle – from drug discovery through drug development, and understanding of pain points such that they can be addressed with an applicable technology.

Experience doing deals focused on a technology, preferably a platform technology, with multiple applications in pharma and other life sciences settings.

Must have demonstrated ability to manage client engagements, at all levels, to ensure delivery of value, and to proliferate use of a technology deeply and broadly throughout accounts.

Experience managing negotiations and communications on multiple contracts simultaneously or interfacing with highly matrixed multi-disciplinary teams to complete contract terms.

Ability to work independently in a rapidly evolving environment.

Experience presenting at the higher levels of large pharma preferred (e.g. Senior Director, VP, SVP, C-level) and academia (Department Heads, Deans, Chancellors).

Ability to work effectively in a matrix environment.
