Illuminate USA, a new standalone joint venture established by two global leaders in renewable energy, is building one of the largest solar panel manufacturing factories in the Western Hemisphere. This 1.1 million-square-foot factory is currently in the advanced stages of preparation in the Columbus, Ohio area. Job Summary:
We are currently looking for a Senior QMS Engineer for our new factory in Columbus, Ohio. This position will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving Quality Management Systems to ensure compliance with ISO standards and regulatory requirements. The Senior QMS Engineer will play a key role in managing the organization’s document management and approval control program, working cross-functionally with internal departments to ensure that documents are properly monitored, documented, formally approved, and periodically reviewed.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and optimize Quality Management System processes in alignment with ISO 9001 standards.
- Manages Document Control Program; ensures proper monitoring and control of all types of policies, procedures, forms, and records within the organization.
- Drive proper routing, review, and approval of all new documents and ensure documentation remains updated.
- Ensure proper maintenance and upkeep of Document Management System.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality requirements are met across all departments; lead quality improvement projects and initiatives to enhance product and process quality.
- Conduct internal audits and assist in preparation for external audits to maintain compliance certifications.
- Monitor, analyze, and report key performance indicators and prepare detailed reports with actionable recommendations.
- Act as a subject matter expert for QMS, providing guidance and training to teams on quality standards and practices.
- Support the integration of QMS with other management systems, such as ISO 14001 or ISO 45001.
- Fulfill any additional responsibilities or tasks as delegated by superiors.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality management, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in Quality Management Systems, preferably in manufacturing or renewable energy.
- Expert knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and other quality frameworks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality management software.
- Proficient in Document Management Systems (e.g., Sharepoint, Arena, etc.)
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
