Position Summary:
A Senior MSI Project Manager ensures the successful implementation of new P&C Insurance Product projects and strategic projects, as assigned. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of both personal lines insurance and launching insurance products from inception to completion. The MSI Project Manager orchestrates complex projects focused on new product development and is the cohesive force that unifies the collaboration and work with colleagues across the organization within Product, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Finance, Accounting, Data & Analytics, and Application Development. This role will also involve frequent interactions with business presidents, who are the main project stakeholders.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Proactively spearheads the comprehensive lifecycle of new Personal Lines Product implementations, driving strategic projects towards successful outcomes.
- Actively takes charge of assigned strategic projects, ensuring they deliver the intended results in a timely and efficient manner.
- Participates in defining project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
- Demonstrates a quality forward, proactive approach to project management, consistently adding value to each project, and acts as a thought partner with key stakeholders and executive sponsors on each project.
- Consolidates, develops, documents, captures and maintains regular updates on significant end-to-end project milestones in project plans, setting stakeholder expectations for long-term success.
- Utilizes industry product knowledge to collaborate with key stakeholders, innovating more efficient ways to manage project deliverables such as carrier formation, reinsurance placements, state regulatory authorization, product filings, bank accounts, compliance review, contracts/agreements, system delivery, etc.
- Actively participates in business segment meetings, assisting the team in gathering, analyzing, and organizing projects, tracking progress, and steering them to quality completion.
- Facilitates regular project meetings, setting the agenda, leading discussions, tracking progress, and addressing issues to ensure effective communication, team collaboration, and timely completion of project milestones.
- Proactively removes roadblocks to project execution and thinks critically about various scenarios to help expedite the product development process.
- Engages in executive-level meetings about projects as required, demonstrating effective communication and presentation skills.
- Manages and proposes alterations to project scope, schedule and costs based on changing circumstances or requirements.
- Conducts risk management exercises to minimize project risks, forecasting potential delays and strategizing preventive measures with key stakeholders within the Growth Services teams.
- Establishes and nurtures relationships with third parties/vendors/clients to ensure smooth project operations.
- Designs project plans, diagrams, and process maps to document project and process requirements as necessary.
- Prepares and executes change management and communication plans, employing effective tools and techniques to guarantee project success.
Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of direct experience in personal lines insurance.
- Experience in overseeing multi-state product launches with numerous critical timelines.
- A bachelor’s degree in business or a related field is preferred.
- Certifications such as PMP, CAPM, or Six Sigma are highly desirable.
- Demonstrated proficiency in project management software and process flow mapping tools is essential.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all organizational levels, presenting information in clear and concise reports to senior leadership is required.
- Ability to swiftly understand, adapt, and execute change directives is necessary.
- Evident ability to comprehend and evaluate problems, presenting viable solutions is crucial.
- Proven experience working within a team environment, adopting a results-driven approach is required.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and manage change management plans is preferred.
- Proven capability to understand an organization's internal climate, identify productive communication channels, and leverage these channels to achieve objectives is essential.
- Required proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Project, Planner, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Adeptness in embracing and adapting to various AI tools, such as Microsoft Copilot, is essential.
