Job Description
Overview:
Seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as Project Manager, specializing in conveyor systems. This role will oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of conveyor system projects. The ideal candidate will possess project leadership skills, project management expertise, and an understanding of conveyor system design and implementation.
Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Lead peer stakeholders in sales, engineering, logistics planning, manufacturing & quality in coordination, and execution of conveyor system projects from concept to completion.
- Project Planning: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop project plans, timelines, and budgets that align with client objectives and business goals. Support opportunities for process improvement and innovation to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.
- Project Quality Gate Process Adherence & Development: Follow phase-gate project process to ensure successful project execution across all projects. Support process improvement including problem solving methodologies and best practices. .
- Proactive problem solving & escalation: Anticipate issues before they happen. Through pro-active communication and due diligence, ensure all aspects of a project are on track including engineering, materials & assembly labor. Engage with leadership and peer groups with a sense of urgency and purpose.
- Resource Management: Allocate resources, including personnel, 3rd party partners, equipment, and materials, to ensure project milestones are achieved on time and within budget. Monitor resource utilization and adjust plans as necessary to optimize project performance.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with conveyor system projects and develop strategies to mitigate them. Proactively address issues as they arise to minimize project delays or disruptions.
- Quality Assurance: Implement rigorous quality control measures to ensure that conveyor systems meet or exceed client expectations and industry standards. Conduct regular inspections and audits to verify compliance with project specifications and requirements.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, including schedules, budgets, progress reports, and change orders. Provide timely updates to stakeholders on project status, milestones, and key performance indicators.
- Team Culture: Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning within the project management team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in project management.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget, preferably in the consumer products & goods or automotive manufacturing industries.
- Able to collaborate in a fast paced environment with a sense of urgency and purpose.
- Project leadership skills with the ability to motivate peer stakeholders and project contributors to achieve project goals and objectives.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, stakeholders, and team members at all levels.
- PMP certification or equivalent project management certification is desirable.
- Travel to client sites and project locations required up to 15%.
