General Description:
The Senior Project Manager requires rich technical experience in construction project management for pharmaceutical production facility and ability to manage projects and ensure successful delivery of capital projects at BeiGene sites on time, on budget, and with quality. This position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams (e.g., R&D, WPS, GTS, Finance) to coordinate and facilitate discussions and project management skills to drive projects forward. The project types include but are not limited to greenfield and renovations of laboratory, office, manufacturing, utilities, and site infrastructure. This a role reporting directly to the Head of Global Engineering.
Essential Functions of the job:
- Partners proactively with key customers and stakeholders (Global Technical Operations, Research & Development, Global Workplace Services, and Global Technology Solutions) to develop capital projects that support business objectives.
- Serves as a liaison to outside engineering and construction firms for capital projects.
- Manage established capital project governance manual and ensure global CAPEX projects are executed in accordance with the procedure.
- Work closely with project team(s) and ensure successful delivery of assigned capital projects meeting the defined quality, budget, and schedule.
- Actively engages with project steering committees and project teams during the duration of the capital project including but not limited to coordinating and facilitating meetings, drive key decisions, monitoring projects, etc.
- Manages and provides guidance to the Engineering Project Managers that provide capital project management leadership across the project lifecycle (initiation, design, construction, commissioning/qualification, and closeout).
- Works with Project Managers to ensure identification and communication of project risks, development of risk plans and contributes to proactively manage risk response strategies. Including facilitating project escalations to the leadership.
- Coordinates closely with the other support departments in the organization, i.e., Quality, finance, procurement, EH&S.
- Ensures that capital delivery methodologies, project management processes/principles and project management tools are developed and utilized to achieve project goals. Improves and simplifies processes continuously.
- Monitors project progress and performance, and budget spendings to ensure the successful management of capital projects and early warnings, if deviations become apparent.

Skills and Qualifications:
- BS in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical) is required with a minimum 7 years experience in engineering project management, or 6+ years with Masters or 4+ years with PhD/JD; MBA and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly desirable.
- Special knowledge requirements include biopharmaceutical and pharmaceutical processes and facility design approaches, plus a solid understanding of cGMP requirements.
- General knowledge requirements include all applicable building codes and related regulations, basic design, and construction methodology (particularly in the process and mechanical discipline), and expertise in project management methodologies.
- High skills and competency in project management tools and activities (process, organization, cost, change control, time, schedule, procurement, outsourcing, contracting, qualification/validation).
- The ideal candidate will have held positions in engineering project management within a global engineering department for a major pharmaceutical or biotech manufacturing company.
- Solicit and respond to use input with the team members and maintain positive relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Requires collaborative communication skills and leadership in project management to promote team members engagement and development.
- An acceptable alternate background would be design and engineering management with a commercial engineering firm specializing in pharmaceutical projects.
- Periodic extensive travel may be required to support initiatives and projects.
- Team player, results oriented, integrity and ethical behavior, strategic thinking, leadership, ability to lead through uncertainty, confidence building, positive and energizing style.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills. Fluent in English. Bi-lingual in Chinese desirable.

Salary Range: $127,900.00 - $172,900.00 annually

Please note that the listed range reflects the base salary or hourly range only. Non-Commercial roles are eligible to participate in the annual bonus plan, and Commercial roles are eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
