Southern Program Alliance is one of five alliances responsible for removing 110 of Melbourne’s most dangerous and congested level crossings by 2025 as part of Victoria’s Big Build transport infrastructure program.

The Opportunity:
The Senior Project Engineer supports the Construction Manager in achieving safe, timely, and high-quality project completion within budget. Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will oversee project planning, execution, and closure, ensuring contractual profitability and obligations are met.
You will provide technical, administrative, and HSEQS support to Supervisors, fostering collaboration with internal and external resources to meet project objectives.
Key accountabilities:
- As an onsite project team ensure the project is delivered to overall program to cost & time with resources needed leading to a high level of client satisfaction
- Identification and assessment of risk to the project as well as implementation of strategies to mitigate risk
- Use your technical skills to resolve design challenges and identify value engineering opportunities
- Cost and forecast control to assist the project managers with strategic planning
- Lead, develop and manage large project teams on the ground
- Build effective and & collaborative relationships to coordinate activities with supervisors
- Maintaining quality, environmental, and safety systems across the project
Required Skills and Competencies
- You will ideally have a degree in civil engineering
- You will have extensive experience on site working on a major project.
- You will be able to manage, and develop long-term programs as well as display a high level of competency around contracts, cost forecasting, & management of a large team of engineers
- Advanced communication skills and an ability to build and maintain relationships with a broad range of subcontractors, local authorities, internal staff and client representatives
