Job Overview

We're looking for a Senior Product Marketing Manager to lead positioning & messaging and sales enablement for the company. This isn't your average product marketing role - you'll be the strategic force that helps craft our story, connects complex customer challenges to our unique solutions, empowers our sales team to drive meaningful customer conversations, and helps shape our product's future direction with market insights. You should be someone who combines sharp strategic thinking with analytical prowess, compelling storytelling, and a knack for getting things done.

A Typical Day

  • Staying Plugged into the DevOps World - keeping a pulse on emerging tech trends, developer community discussions, and industry movements to ensure our strategies are grounded in real-world shifts.
  • Driving Competitive Intelligence & Market Analysis - analyzing market trends, competitors' offerings, and pricing strategies to uncover opportunities and threats. Translating insights into actionable strategies that shape both sales tactics and product roadmaps.
  • Deep Diving into Win/Loss Analyses - Understanding the real reasons behind wins and losses. Turning these insights into concrete recommendations for sales, product, and marketing teams.
  • Architecting Platform Positioning & Messaging - Creating distinctive positioning frameworks that showcase Buildkite's unique value. Transforming market insights and customer learnings into powerful messaging narratives that resonate with developers.
  • Leading Our Sales Enablement Strategy - Creating battle cards, playbooks, and training programs that equip our sales team to close deals effectively. Ensuring the sales team has the right messaging, competitive positioning, and objection-handling techniques.
  • Partnering with Marketing for Aligned Messaging - Ensuring consistency across campaigns, positioning, and go-to-market strategies. Providing competitive insights that refine messaging and content.
  • Collaborating with Product Management -  Feeding customer feedback and competitive intelligence into product development. Aligning product priorities with real-world sales challenges and opportunities.
  • Building Cross-Team Feedback Loops - Creating structured communication channels between sales, marketing, product, and engineering. Ensuring all teams stay informed, aligned, and adaptive to new insights.
  • Measuring & Reporting on Impact - Tracking the effectiveness of sales enablement and competitive intelligence programs. Using metrics like win rates, deal velocity, and sales adoption to drive continuous improvement.

What we want from you

  • 6+ years of product marketing experience, with at least 3 years marketing developer tools to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated success building and running sales enablement programs
  • Experience leading competitive analysis and win/loss programs that have directly shaped product strategy and market positioning
  • Deep understanding of the developer landscape with the ability to translate technical concepts into compelling sales narratives that drive win rates
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong analytics and problem-solving skills, with the ability to uncover and distill the important details
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proven teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams

We offer:

  • Competitive salary and benefits package
  • Remote-first culture with flexible working hours
  • Professional development opportunities
  • A collaborative environment where your ideas matter

This role is crucial for enhancing our market position through effective sales enablement strategies. If you are passionate about driving product success through competitive intelligence and empowering sales teams, we encourage you to apply.
