Job Description
Visa is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Product Manager to join our Alternative Payments product team. This role will drive initiatives to expand Visa’s network penetration across Real-time payments, eWallets, Account-to-Account transactions, BNPL, and regional cards, ensuring Visa remains a trusted and dominant player in digital payments.
Role Overview:
As a Product Manager, you will deliver the best product experience to our customers, leveraging your strong product background and deep understanding of global digital payment systems and software technologies. You will excel in both strategic and tactical aspects, from creating business plans to driving product development and delivery. You will collaborate with multiple teams across Visa's global organization, including Engineering, Operations, Design, Sales, Finance, Legal, Quality, and Consumer Insights. Besides product development, you will also commercialize the service and activate markets globally, including delivering client pitches and demos, fostering relationships, and supporting pilot and live service delivery.
Essential Functions:
- Drive the execution of all processes in the product lifecycle: market research, competitor analysis, strategy, planning, positioning, requirements, roadmap development, and product launch.
- Work with regional and country-level teams to define localized product strategies for scaling with clients, including merchants, acquiring partners, fintech partners, and marketplace providers.
- Translate product strategy into detailed business requirements and specifications for user experience design and engineering development.
- Collaborate with technology and cross-functional teams to roll out products.
- Prioritize and manage the product backlog in a fast-paced agile environment.
- Monitor and report on product progress, including significant milestones and project risks.
- Coordinate and author product documentation and communications.
- Lead cross-functional efforts to build support processes, training, and materials for all channels.
- Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to provide actionable insights and iterate product capabilities.
- Participate in user experience iterations and conduct user research to test product enhancements.
- Partner with technical leadership and product development teams to deliver new features to market.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Qualifications
• 5+ years as a product manager or product owner in a scrum agile environment.
• Deep understanding of various payment systems such as Alternative Payments, Card Networks, ACH, RTP, SWIFT, Digital Wallets.
• Strong experience as a technical product manager in API development using SOAP or REST, JSON, and XML.
• Strong understanding of API security, security standards, data encryption, and HSMs.
• Strong influencing, negotiation, and results-driving skills, with the ability to adhere to timelines and identify project risks early.
• Proven ability to convert product strategy into execution.
• Proven success in fast-paced, cross-functional agile scrum environments with demanding timelines.
• Experience contributing to engineering discussions on technology decisions and product strategy.
• Willingness to work with globally distributed teams across multiple time zones.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills, with experience using qualitative and quantitative data to develop product strategies.
• SaaS experience, preferably in the financial industry.
