Job Description Summary
New product launches always have interesting challenges, and the recent launch in Japan is no exception. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a robust “re-launch” plan (Sales process, Service process, Customer Service process, etc.) for the new business, and also to execute the plan under the direction of the Head of Marketing and Commercial Operations. This position will collaborate with CSMs (clinical sales managers) and our distributor partner, as well as the global commercial and customer service teams. He/She is expected to analyze the current situation, set appropriate goals and gain alignment with key stakeholders.
In addition to the re-launch plan, primary responsibilities will be to manage planned Congresses and develop good relationships with KOL around the country. The candidate will also be expected to identify issues quickly and collaborate with the appropriate stakeholders to resolve the issues.
Due to the high priority of this work, the role will have interactions with senior management and will be highly visible across the organization, including Global HQ.
Job Description
Essential Functions
- Developing short and long-term strategy and tactics, such as launch plans, brand strategies
- Identifies issues and collaborates with key stakeholders to develop solutions that help achieve set goals
- Able to effectively negotiate with Japanese distributor and Global HQ in English and, resolve complex issues.
- Strong understanding of patient, HCP, and distributor needs
- Effectively manages diverse group of agencies/external partners
- Develops programs and tools to maximize sales force effectiveness; provides sales training/sales meeting support
- Involve key stakeholders in every step of the planning process to ensure strong pull through
- Strict budget management to achieve desired level of commercial success
- Comply fully with all relevant legal and ethical codes of conduct
- Contribute to the development of a world-class marketing culture at Mallinckrodt
Minimum Requirements
Education / Experience / Skills:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree is required, MBA is preferred
Experience:
- 5+ years related experience in medical device product marketing is essential
- New product launch experience preferred
- Sales experience is a plus
- Development phase product experience is a plus
Preferred Skills/Competencies:
- Must be able to negotiate effectively with global counterparts in English
- Proven project and time management skills
- Expertise in Hematology
- Proficient at managing distributor/agency partners and motivating them to achieve the best quality output
- Skilled at leading HCP marketing (e.g. Congresses, seminars, round-table discussions)
- KOL engagement skills essential

Working Conditions:
- Candidate must be willing to travel up to 30-50% of time, especially in the immediate pre/post launch years.
- Overseas travel as needed if qualified for the task.
