JOB SUMMARY

As a Senior Product Manager focused on Buyer Experience & Growth, you will play a critical role in shaping the buyer experience on our B2B marketplace and growing our business. This role requires understanding of growth mechanics coupled with personalization, recommendations, merchandising with focus on experimentation and using data to drive decisions and outcomes. Your mission is to ensure the right buyers are seeing the right listings, leveraging data-driven personalization strategies, and optimizing how inventory is showcased to maximize engagement and transactions. You’ll also oversee traffic control initiatives, promoting specific listings, sellers, or inventory categories during key supply-side events. In this role you’ll act as a bridge across product, engineering, data science, marketing, design, account management, customer support, and own the strategy and execution to drive more engagement with our product.

 What you will do:

  • Personalization: Develop and implement strategies to match buyers with relevant listings based on behavior, preferences, and marketplace trends.
  • Traffic Control: Build tools for promotions and coordinate promotional efforts to highlight specific listings, sellers, or inventory classes during special events or to address supply-side needs.
  • Merchandising Optimization: Define and enhance how inventory is presented on the platform, ensuring a seamless and engaging buyer experience.
  • Buyer Lifecycle Management: Own the strategy and execution of buyer communications, including email, SMS, and push notifications, to nurture buyers through acquisition, activation, engagement, and resurrection.
  • Tool Integration: Utilize tools like Vertex AI, Segment, and Braze to execute and scale personalization, notifications, and campaign strategies.
  • Measure and Optimize:: Leverage analytics and customer insights to refine personalization algorithms and optimize merchandising strategies. Measure effectiveness of email campaigns, personalization and merchandising strategies. Design and drive experimentation if needed. Help in developing demand and churn prediction algorithms.
  • Strategic Roadmap Planning: Align personalization and merchandising initiatives with broader company objectives to drive buyer engagement and marketplace growth.

 What we are looking for:

  • You served in  a product growth manager role in another company with hands-on experience on personalization, recommendation engines, or search optimization in e-commerce or marketplaces
  • You are skilled at managing merchandising and promotional campaigns to influence buyer behavior.
  • You have experience using tools like Vertex AI, Segment, or Braze to drive product success.
  • You have a deep need to understand the customer. You have a data-driven approach and are just as comfortable analyzing behavioral data in Amplitude/Tableau as you are conducting user interviews. You are genuinely curious about what inspires the customer, and you are comfortable disconfirming existing beliefs
  • You’re a hands-on “builder.” You’re able to bungee jump from the strategic sphere into hands-on execution, without missing a beat. You’re scrappy. There is no one to delegate to, within this role.
  • You have high organizational agility. You collaborate proactively, build trust across levels, and successfully influence outside of your direct sphere of control. You turn opportunities into results by bringing people together.
  • You’re self-directed and thrive in ambiguity. This is a new role. You’ll build, adapt, and refine new cross-functional processes. You have an extreme ownership mentality with a drive to get work across the finish line and achieve results.
  • You have a passion for growing a business and are results-driven. You’ll measure the impact of your projects so you can learn, adapt, better engage customers, and drive growth.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on personalization, merchandising, or growth. Bonus: Reforge training
  • Experience working on marketplaces or platforms with a dynamic supply-and-demand ecosystem.
  • Familiarity with tools and technologies for recommendation engines, machine learning models, or merchandising platforms.
  • Passionate about creating intuitive and engaging customer experiences through innovative product solutions.

The pay rate for this role will range between $160,000 to $180,000, per annum. We consider many factors when determining salary offers, such as the applicant’s work experience, education and training, skills, market data, and internal equity.

THE COMPANY

B-Stock is the world's largest B2B re-commerce platform, connecting sellers and buyers of returned, trade-in, and overstock inventory. Our customers range from today’s top brands and retailers that want best-in-class inventory resale management to tens of thousands of entrepreneurs looking to purchase valuable merchandise for their resale businesses.

While the amount of returned and overstock inventory continues to grow, there is also growing pressure on retailers and consumers to adopt a more circular economy and keep products in use as long as possible. Accordingly, the need for re-commerce solutions - to find products a second life - has never been greater! At B-Stock we’re proud to play a large part in powering resale, reuse, and the circular economy through our platform: annually we sell over 130 million items across all categories and conditions, equating to 400 million pounds of inventory.

We believe there is tremendous value in and demand for this inventory - no matter the category, condition, or location. With hundreds of thousands transactions completed annually, B-Stock gives buyers a simple and direct way to buy valuable products directly from retailers and offers sellers a technology-driven replacement for traditional resale methods, while boosting operational efficiency, recovery rates, and cycle time.

Led by eBay veterans and backed by top investors including Spectrum Equity, True Ventures, and Susquehanna Growth Equity, B-Stock shows no signs of slowing down. Our core values have shaped the company we are today and will continue to drive our success for many years to come.

OUR VALUES
Make Each Dollar Count
Whether it’s the recovery amount or a buyer’s budget, money matters to all of our clients. And because each dollar matters to them, it matters to us.

Take Our Work Seriously, Not Ourselves
Everything at B-Stock continues to grow - everything but our egos, that is. We’re not afraid to let loose and laugh (often at ourselves).

Do The Hard Things Today That Will Pay Off Tomorrow
We’re willing to sacrifice and endure, fail and adapt to reach our long-term goals.

Use Trust As The Best Measure Of Success
The trust we earn along the way is more valuable than money. Without trust from both our buyers and sellers, our business won’t succeed.

Find Strength In Numbers
Use our passion for data to provide value to our customers, improve ourselves, and develop new ways to delight our buyers and sellers.

No applicant will face discrimination/harassment based on race, color, ancestry, national origin, religion, age, gender, marital domestic partner status, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability status, or veteran status. Above and beyond discrimination/harassment based on “protected categories,” B-Stock also strives to prevent other, subtler forms of inappropriate behavior (e.g., stereotyping) from ever gaining a foothold in our office. Whether blatant or hidden, barriers to success have no place at B-Stock.
