Nobel Biocare is seeking a highly motivated and skilled engineer who is passionate about driving new product developments to improve patients’ lives. As a Senior Product Development Engineer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of dental implant solutions. Your primary focus will be on developing the next generation of Nobel Biocare’s innovative products.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop products autonomously according to the company’s Design Control and Idea to Market processes. Plan, perform and document design verification and validation activities.
- Ensure all required specifications and related documentation are in place in due time and quality to assure early milestone achievement.
- Be the overall responsible for the timely completion in a cross-functional team of the documentation for the development of a new product as per Design Control and Risk Management processes.
- Manage external partners, suppliers, and KOLs in relation to assigned development activities.
- Identify patentable designs and file patents in cooperation with the company’s IP department.
- Identify process and product improvements and support improvement requests for other departments.
- Be a central point of knowledge for technical expertise in the company’s products.
- Continuously report to line and project manager achievements and escalates challenges in a timely manner.

Job Requirements:
Knowledge and Qualifications
- Strong technical background (BSc, MSc or equivalent) in relevant field (e.g. biomedical or mechanical engineering).
- Further education in Medical Technology or Business Administration is a plus.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written), German is an asset.

- Expert knowledge of Design Control processes according to ISO 13485 or 21 CFR Part 820.
- Good understanding of user needs, clinical and laboratory workflows to be able to translate customer needs into technical requirements and to perform customer visits with valuable feedback.
- Good knowledge of relevant tools (3D CAD, CAM, SAP, MS Office).
- Good knowledge of various manufacturing methods especially CNC including limitations and cost.
- Ability to write complex technical documents (e.g. reports, rationales, procedures, work instructions, or deviations).
- Ability to lead and coordinate a cross-functional technical project team and getting consensus for timely deliverables completion.
Experience
- Five plus (5+) years of successful working experience in product development and/or technical project lead in medical device or pharmaceutical industry, preferably in the dental industry.
- Experience in leading technical projects and teams in matrix organizations.
