The Business Technology Team

This role joins the Business Technology organization and plays a critical part in realizing our vision to accelerate the delivery of business outcomes across Okta by driving clarity, collaboration, and accountability in everything we do. We enable the broader Business Technology organization in the mission to “Accelerate Okta’s Scale and Growth”.

The ‘Product Analyst, Risk’ Opportunity

We are looking for a Product Analyst who is self-motivated with a proven track record in supporting technical teams with security and compliance risk management. Success requires being comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with a rapidly expanding end-user base. In this role, you focus on the technical aspects of the platforms, working directly with the Business Technology Engineering Services team. From an operational standpoint, the successful candidate will ensure our engineering team adheres to best practices, utilizing advanced knowledge of security and compliance frameworks, to support our Business Technology ecosystem surrounding Okta and its end users.

As a Product Analyst, you will work closely with a global team and embark on a journey of bridging compliance & security tasks and process changes, shaping how we deliver experiences to our customers. This is a technical role which requires strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional partners across Okta. 

What you’ll be doing 

  • Work with the Security and Compliance teams, representing Business Technology and acting as a bridge between both, supporting Audit and Vulnerability Management tasks.
  • Gather requirements from our Federal and Commercial teams, ensuring in-boundary systems are compliant.
  • Enhance and support current solutions that solve business challenges and improve processes - i.e. Kanban, audit evidence support.
  • Work with our core team to ensure environments maintain the highest levels of availability, security, and quality.
  • Identify opportunities to secure, innovate, scale, extend and enhance service delivery where possible.
  • Gather and use data to quantify risk and support recommendations.
  • Develop and execute on comprehensive product security strategies that align with Okta’s overall business goals and objectives, broader industry and market trends.
  • Work with the product team to review and execute requirements, test plans, technical specification, and provide input in the design, maintainability, scalability and usability of platform implementations. 
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in service management to identify opportunities for innovation and automation.
  • Empower our engineers through a culture of continuous learning by helping to field system related questions and share out best practices with the broader team.

What you’ll bring to the role

  • 4+ years of demonstrable Governance, Risk and Compliance experience
    • 2+ years supporting FedRAMP or other federal compliance efforts is a plus
  • 6+ years of experience supporting systems in an IT environment
  • Advanced-level understanding process and tasks with a concentration on:
    • Kanban
    • NIST IT security guidelines (SP-800 series)
    • IT audit experience
  • Advanced experience integrating third-party applications
  • Demonstrated business results from products, features or capabilities you have implemented and use of data to show a measurable outcome
  • Experience in hands-on design, prototyping, development, configurations, testing and other implementation activities
  • A basic understanding of Agile/Scrum project lifecycle management
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and concise professional manner, including both verbal and written communications
  • Ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor's degree and/or an education/work experience equivalent. Advanced degree would be a plus

Below is the annual base salary range for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York and Washington. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in California (excluding San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado, New York, and Washington is between:

$132,000$198,000 USD
