Job Description

 

About the Role:

We are looking for a Senior Procurement Operations Associate to join our team. You will help support our procurement strategy by ensuring efficient operations across the Source-to-pay (S2P) process. You will focus on maintaining seamless supplier onboarding, purchasing, invoicing, and compliance processes. You will work with teams to refine procurement workflows, ensure compliance with internal policies, and provide operational support. You will report to the Senior Manager of Accounts Payable and Travel and Entertainment.

You will be in a hybrid position, which includes regular attendance to the Norfolk, VA office 3 days per week with the flexibility to work remotely for the remaining 2 days per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Support with supplier onboarding, monitor compliance with company policies and contracts and resolve supplier issues, escalating challenges to the procurement team.
  • Collaborate with partners to improve procurement processes, identify improvements for cost efficiency using Coupa, and ensure understanding of goals to deliver measurable value.
  • Support bidirectional integration between procurement tools (e.g., Coupa) and contract management systems (e.g., Ironclad) for seamless reporting and compliance.
  • Integrate third-party risk assessments into procurement using Coupa's risk module, while identifying and mitigating risks in supplier engagements and processes.
  • Develop and deliver regular procurement performance reports, and analyze data.
  • Support change management efforts and provide training to procurement team members and company partners.
  • Demonstrate support and understanding of our value of journalistic independence and a strong commitment to our mission to seek the truth and help people understand the world.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in procurement operations or a related function.
  • 2+ years of experience using Coupa or other Source-to-Pay processes and procurement systems.
  • 4+ years of experience working with Microsoft Excel for reporting, analyzing spend, and other tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Experience with contract management and procurement compliance.

The annual base pay range for this role is between $77,000 and $88,000.
