The role:

As a Senior Procurement Executive joining our Finance Tribe, you will be a key contributor to the evolution of our rapidly maturing procurement function.  As our operations and services continue to grow, so does the complexity and cost of services which we procure. You’ll collaborate with teams globally to define and procure external services for our Marketing, Product, Strategy, Comms and Commercial teams and ensure that Skyscanner’s cost basis is controlled appropriately and represents optimal value for spend. We are in an exciting period of transformation where we are looking to continuously improve how we do things, optimising our processes and leveraging best-in-class technology to deliver value for the organisation.

You’ll support the development and delivery of our procurement strategy in a relatively 'greenfield' procurement environment. In addition, this role provides an excellent opportunity for dynamic individuals to make a real impact and to work with senior management on challenging and complex projects. It also enables you to manage associated commercial procurement activities to drive value creation and minimise the total cost of ownership.

Responsibilities include:

  • Procurement strategy - Adept at managing senior stakeholders, you will drive the socialisation, adoption, implementation, ongoing maintenance and evolution of procurement strategy across several disciplines. You will support the Senior Procurement Manager responsible for Marketing, Communications, Product, Strategy and Commercial.
  • RFIs / RFPs - Responsible for drafting and running RFI/ RFP processes utilising our sourcing and contract management system, maintaining supplier relationships, leading negotiations and managing contracts and commercial risks for (suppliers.
  • Contract development - Support the development of contracts, including Service Level Agreements, as well as work closely with Legal Team as part of the procurement process
  • Supplier relationships - Manage ongoing supplier relationships, as well as key supplier accounts and performance management using KPIs and metrics
  • Supplier performance management - Responsible for running Supplier Performance Management activities to ensure our existing suppliers are delivering per contract and continue to add value for Skyscanner
  • Risk management - Own the Supplier Risk Management activity, including ongoing review and monitoring of our most strategic suppliers – specifically across the Marketing, Communications, Product, Strategy and Commercial category areas.
  • Support strategy creation - Support the Senior Procurement Manager in drafting discipline / category strategies while working with the relevant business owners across Marketing, Communications, Product, Strategy and Commercial.

Skills and experience:

This is a specialist individual contributor role where you will be given the opportunity to make a real impact (this is not a “check the box” role). Skyscanner can offer you large-scale, complex problems where you impact the experience of 100 million monthly users whilst enjoying a high level of autonomy and influence and a flexible working environment.

  • Procurement knowledge - Proven experience in a procurement role, preferably within a fast-paced, high-growth environment. You'll have a deep understanding of market-leading procurement practices
  • Sourcing - Experience in sourcing either technology or marketing solutions and recent experience in running complex sourcing processes
  • Stakeholder management - Experience working with all levels of stakeholders and an ability to tailor your approach. This includes exec level stakeholders.
  • Contract management - Robust contract management skills including a strong understanding of key contract clauses, such as IPR and license rights.
  • Autonomy - Independent, self-guided and passionate about delivering meaningful results.
  • Analytically oriented - You can demonstrate impact and efficacy of interventions on the business. You are also data-driven with any decision-making process.
  • Travel - Be willing to travel where required.
