RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Initiate and lead process designs for the advanced gas processing and separation applications
-
Consult with Business line technical and application teams to align on technical solutions and offerings.
-
Engage with other Advanced Gas Processing team members to understand external and internal client’s project requirement
-
Simulate complete process plant scenarios and optimize solutions suitable for Evonik gas processing technologies
-
Engage with internal and external customers to understand project technical roadmap and deploy winning technical solutions
-
Work with other process technology group piers to gauge equipment sizing and cost estimates for the overall techno feasibility of the project
-
Provide feedback and improvement suggestions to product development and product application teams
-
Actively engage in new technology development process and provide optimized process technology designs addressing process solutions.

Provide technical expertise in core process engineering disciplines (P&ID, PFD, Process Simulations, mass and energy balances, equipment sizing, selection)

Performs process calculations to design equipment and scale-up calculations for processes including techno feasibility studies

Prepare supporting process documentation for projects of diverse scope and complexity.

Support on building and maintaining internal customer contacts as well as cooperation with external solution providers, universities and research institutes

Prioritize and develop projects based on critical needs.

Present technical solutions and findings for new and existing technologies to management teams and external stakeholders

Analyze and troubleshoot process problems to make continuous and permanent improvements.

Develop project process within allotted timelines and budget.

Ensure in compliance with company and industry standards.

Serve as a key contact point in the region
REQUIREMENTS
-
Successfully completed university degree (Masters, PhD preferred) in chemical engineering OR similar engineering degree with minimum 5 years’ process industry experience
-
Prior work experience in developing gas processing and treatment project is preferred, min. 2 years
-
Strong technical background in process engineering and understanding of technology license development
-
Significant hands-on experience with process simulation software (Hysis, Aspen Plus or similar)

Experience in developing process PFD, P&ID and balance of the plant engineering

Strong problem-solving ability
-
Improvisation, coordination, and organization skills
-
Proactive, flexible and good sense of responsibility
-
Strong written and spoken English
-
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team

Willingness to travel on a regular basis (mainly domestic, sometimes international)

Technical/business acumen regarding interacting with internal/external customer
