Senior Process Engineer

Albany, NY

Responsibilities:

  • Tool architecture, system integration, sub-component testing along with some software programing capabilities .
  • Perform a wide variety of electronic, electro-mechanical, and/or opto-mechanical assemblies & sub-assemblies
  • Determine procedures for most efficient sequence of operations and defining product specifications for a final assembly
  • Perform standard testing processes on variety of equipment types
  • Make recommendations in changing assembly, testing methods of equipment & develop test-benches for component research initiatives 
  • Testing and calibration of parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and specifications
  • Supporting technology transfer to various business units.
  • Understand software tool control & feedback along with tool interfaces.
  • Must be able to work closely with process engineering team & tool assembly teams
  • Keeping up on the latest technology and methods trends in the industry for not only your betterment but also for the purpose of investigating opportunities for securing intellectual property (IP).
  • Comfortable driving project objectives across multiple sites/locations.
  • Work with process and hardware engineers on demo tooling equipment
  • Assist in recommendation and interpretation of physical and chemical behaviors as part of process characterization


Typical Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of related experience; or Master's Degree with 6 years of related experience; PhD with 4 years of related experience; or Associate's Degree with 12 years of related experience; or 16 years of experience in lieu of degree. High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • PhD Preferred

Required Skills:

  • Experience in electro/mechanical design
  • Developing and updating detailed layouts for equipment, process flow and integration
  • Excellent verbal and written communications
  • Must be able to work in teams as well as individually


Physical Demands and Work Conditions
The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required, which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 35 pounds. This position also requires 4 to 6 hours per day at a computer screen/keyboard.

Salary Ranges$122,035.36 - $160,572.95

Individual pay is determined based on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, experience, skills, job-related knowledge, relevant education, certifications, and/or training. In addition to base salary, we offer (full time regular employees ) a comprehensive benefits package and for certain roles eligibility in our bonus plan and long-term incentives as applicable.
